Uber/Lyft on game days

My friend and I usually drink at a hotel beforehand and catch an Uber.  We have to get out and walk a couple blocks but it’s not bad.  We usually walk to the Epicenter after and drink more, then take an Uber back to the hotel from there. Haven’t driven once because we’re always intoxicated.  It works if you don’t mind spending a few extra bucks for the surge.  We try to go to prime time games though so it could be different for afternoon games

Anybody ever used Uber or Lyft to and from the stadium on game dsys? Is it doable?

I have an Airbnb nearby for 2 games this season. Season parking fell through and am considering going game to game

Good luck getting an uber home. Every time I've tried it, it has been a disaster. They close a bunch of streets and it takes the Uber forever to get to stadium. Better off waking a while and then requesting an uber.

Immediately it’s rough but If you walk toward epicenter and have a few more beers and catch the first half of the next round of games it’s simple. Either way expect to arrive and depart at least 2 blocks away.

This is my fear. Was planning to head to Draft on Cedar street and texting Uber from there once Cedar clears out.

Yea, it can be a nightmare immediately after the game. There's been a few times where the driver has cancelled or I've cancelled simply because it connected us but we weren't going to meet up for at least 30 minutes due to traffic. Eventually, you find one that's sort of close to your spot so you start walking to them, they'll call you, and you won't be able to hear them or understand what they're saying due to the noise pollution and the fact that you're drunk. Beats a DUI though.

Like others have said, the best bet is to go sit and wait somewhere or walk further away from the stadium.

It's in South End. I could easily walk but my wife couldn't. Got it for Cowboys and Saints

Most games I have a 2 hour drive back to Winston Salem so a little wait shouldn't be too bad.

You could also take the light rail. It's still a pain in the ass after games due to everyone trying to cram in but it's another option especially since your place is in south end.

Even the walk to closest rail station would be pushing my wife's limits. We are old farts
