Trade Option to Improve the Passing Game

So why give up a promising young LB, on a defense oriented team for a mediocre WR who's past his prime and isn't likely to contribute anyway?

It's still not worth it, because we're not very deep at LBer either. And I wasn't just talking about this thread, I'm talking about all the "we should trade for so and so" threads. Unless Houston is willing to trade Andre Johnson for or the Falcons are willing to trade Matt Ryan for something the Panthers could afford, I just don't see the point.

Wow, I'm surprised you don't think we are that deep at LB. One of the few positions I actually think we could trade a player out of. In any case I was just posting it because I saw it and thought it was noteworthy, if for nothing else to pick up a draft pick.

as long as the hurney, fox, and davidson trio are together their passing game will just be a gimmick in the offense.

Id rather work on improving pass protection and using the very capable receivers we already have. Hasn't Gross already given up more sacks than all of last season? Didn't we just make him one of the top paid OT's?

Getting a new WR at this point would equate to buying a newer, big trailer to haul with a truck with engine and transmission problems- it would cost a lot and wouldn't make a bit of difference.

I have thought Gross has done an good Job at pass protecting this season. I mean Jake really dose have to hang in the pocket way too long on passing downs. I think the problem can be solved with the players we have I just think no one is trying to solve the problem.

I understand what you're saying, but what happens if Beason or Davis gets hurt and you just traded away Connors or Anderson? Then we have nothing but a WR that will probably only play 10 snaps a game anyway, because they want Moose and a TE in there to block for the running game.

How about seeing if we can get Campbell from the Skins?? He is going to be a free agent next offseason, the Skins season is over and they are not very high on him anymore. I know this will never happen but I would love to him on this team. I think the reason why Fox wont pull Jake is he is the best option on this team right now. (sadly Fox and Hurney's fault, but the reality)

With the way Jake is throwing the ball, we need to find a receiver that is 6'8", has 12' arms, huge hands, and can reach down to the ground without bending over.

Not sure how much, if any, Curtis would help. I'm thinking Johnson, a former starter in Cincy, could be a good trade.

Johnson would already be gone if we could absorb the cap hit on accelerated guarantees. We don't have a choice, he's staying put until next year. Thanx Julius (and Hurney)
