"From what I've been seeing defenses are dropping a lot more guys ]into coverage and, I don't know if it's based on our formations, or the quarterback's drop or what kind of keys they're getting, but the safeties have typically been reading and then trying to drop back into coverage and reading pass," Muhammad said

I remember someone posting how they can tell when we are going to run or pass based on how steve smith comes out of the huddle or how he presses his feet at the line...that could be what's happening but our team hasn't acknowledge that. If they know when we are going to pass our play-action is meaningless..Our coaching staff has to get out of the gutter on this and fix all these tells that shows the other team who we are going to throw to and when..

There aren't any keys. He'll I'm just a casual fan and I know what they're going to do before the snap- the same crap we've been doing for the better part of a decade. Imagine what I could fulivure out if I was getting paid big bucks to do it. Our offense is very simple and based on execution, when we don't execute the reads, blocks, routes or assignments things go horribly wrong.

If teams are, in fact, dropping more into coverage then we should adjust to that, but that's something we just don't do.

I remember some years ago an article I read in Charlotte Observer written by Scott Fowler. He said there are some cooks that like to create and experiment, and then there are others that are not fancy or creative, but are content to use the basic ingredients. The results may not be overwelming, but the results are pretty much the same.

Fox is the latter. Nothing fancy, just line 'em up and play. When it works, it's a thing of beauty. When it doesn't, though, it's ugly. The problem with this approach in today's NFL is it leaves a very thin margin for error and becomes predictable and stale, which is what we've become, especially on offense. I'm not saying we should become a WC or run & shoot offense. But the more balanced and diverse your offense is, the more successful you'll have, as a quick look at the top teams this year will attest.

from what i saw on that last drive we ran out of 3 receiver sets a lot, but i wasn't paying much attention as that was boring football at it's finest. i'll take it though.

my problem is these formations where we have two tightends, we run out of that a lot, and when we don't run, we usually get sacked

I am reminded, every time our O is on the field, of the classic Movie Scene from "Water Boy" were Red Beaulieu is reading the "coaching football for dummies" book and laughing at all the plays Coach Klein was calling. It is sad really the lack of creativity (and I firmly blame Fox for that as he did the same to Henning) our O (and for that matter the Ds) playcalling.

that was some of the best football you will ever see. run it down their fuging throats. fuging awesome.

what pissed me off about the last philly and arizona games, they did that on the first drive and then tried to become a super awesome passing team lol

They were talking about Josh McDaniels today and how he had taken one thing from Belichick. Sunday after the game he asks his coaches to find 3 or 4 things from all phases of the game O,D,ST about the next team, and how to beat them. And by Wednesday they are ready with a game plan for the players. They adjust to the team they are playing each week?! I have never heard of such a thing!!! WTF?! Fox and co. do the same things week in and week out on offense and defense. No change. And when you don't change, it is very easy to gameplan for a team, cuz you know exactly what they will do in every situation.

A High School coach called in and said he figured out when we were going to do based on how deep our RB's lined up, and certain formations he saw.

No poo NFL defenses know what we are going to do.

If thats true then the story just got sadder. But look on the bright side at least this shows you just how talented this team is to be able to cover up a dumbass coach for the better part of two seasons.

Our brute like offensive line and our stud backs are the reason that we have any bit of success. It's not that people don't know what we're going to do. It's just when it works, we're just simply overpowering them and there's nothing they can do about it.
