It's hard to get targets when you can't get separation. KB may be one of the worst at that in the league honestly. It also doesn't help that you show up to camp looking like a water buffalo.

Last year Funchess was targeted 111 times and caught 63 for a 56.8% success rate.

Before the trade, KB was actually having a good year--much better than his first three.  But he had been targeted 51 times to Funchess' 58 and was getting four more yards per catch.  It wasn't just Funchess cutting into his targets though, CMC got 113 targets, vs. 70 for ALL running backs the previous year.

KB was gettin TOO many targets. His slow ass along with Cam staring him down constantly did not work. Without KB this team thrived drastically.

Unlike KB (who was pictured in a Panthers hat in the months leading up to the draft), Star truly did seem like he never really wanted to be here. Can’t see how he’ll ultimately be any happier in Buffalo either to be honest. I think the Bills got hoodwinked. He won’t be happy there and will just continue to go through the motions to keep collecting a fat paycheck.

KB was a damn good receiver for us, but he and Funchess were not complimentary, and with KB coming off a major knee injury, as well as that 5th year option, looking at the cap long term we couldn't keep both. Not to mention since they weren't complimentary on the field it hampered the offense's ability to attack a defense. 

With those things in mind, along with Funchess' age, and higher ceiling as an all around receiver it made sense to part ways, but to those acting like he was just some scrub you're wrong, or he's taking shots you're wrong. 

He wanted out, and the team wanted to move in a different direction at receiver.

Good, because I never wanted him to be here to begin with.  

We went to a Superbowl without him while he was here.  It was addition by subtraction...  what he offers isn't worth the production you lose trying to get him touches.  He is a dinosaur.  The league is about getting the ball out quick into playmakers' hands and letting them get YAC.  I hope KB enjoys tanking Buffalo's offense now.  Best of luck.

KB was good with us; it just was not a fit for the offense he was not dynamic enough. You know exactly what you get with KB, Funchess provides more options while still being able to climb the ladder and bring down jump balls. Glad he is somewhere he can get his targets.

KB is like Carmelo, good but needs too much volume to get the same production other players get with less attempts. Or they have more production with that same volume.

That's ridiculous and I'm somewhat surprised that kind of overrating is still going on, being that he's been traded. He was never any more than average in any facet of being a receiver.
