Kelvin Benjamin says he was traded because he didn't want to be here.

The issue with KB making this statement is more often than not he was the ultimate boom or bust player for us offensively. He would at times spectacularly utilize his size and make an insane catch with defenders draped over him and then a few minutes later he would outright whiff on a gimme or just flat out quit on a play.

The knee injury was undoubtedly a huge career blow. I felt terrible for him. I wish things could have been different. But at the same time you have to acknowledge that ultimately he just wasn't ever able to put it all together to become a consistent weapon for us. Fair or not, at the end of the day that's on him.

Regardless I harbor no ill will toward him, and as a human being I totally get why he would feel this way. But beyond his understandable frustration you have to be able to be honest with yourself too.

when 89s YAC went down....he then become replaceable.  I personally think the fact KB became too much of a one trick pony to be a real number 1.  Funchess isn't great at YAC either, but his one season with 100 targets featured more YAC than all 3 of KB's with 100 targets.

For a guy who can battle for the catch and bring everything in that's thrown his way, he sure has interesting stats.  In his rookie season he was targeted 145 times and caught only 50% of them.  For comparison, Olsen was targeted 123 times and caught 68% of them.  In 2016 Benjamin was targeted 118 times, or basically two times less per game and was still only catching 53%.  I guess those two missing passes are the WR1 passes he deserved based on reasons?

For perspective, there were 41 WRs in 2016 that got 100 or more targets.  36 of them had a higher catch percentage than Benjamin.

It's because him being able to "bring down everything" is a fallacy. He was terrible at catching in traffic. He was 6'5 playing like he was 5'10. Not to mention he would just give up at times and act like he doesn't even care. Good riddance.

I don’t blame him one bit, good for him.

If Josh Allen is legit, he’s going to have a monster year

I wish he never got hurt he looked ridiculous in 2015 TC. Like best player on the team good, and that was going against Josh... I think the ACL tear did him in more than people think. I doubt he'll ever dominate again like he could've and flashed in '14 (50 yarder in double coverage on Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman comes to mind) but he can still be a solid possession and red zone guy for a while.

I'm not buying it. He got a jump ball attempt just about every time we were near the endzone.

Just admit it, KB. Your feelings got hurt because you were "fat shamed" during training camp and you wanted out. Its cool dude! I look like I'm in my 2nd trimester, so I have no room to talk.

When he found out he was being traded to Buffalo I bet he got excited because of "all the wings he could eat up there."

OK I'll see myself out.

Isn't this a contract year for him?  If so, why say this poo when with one good to great season he will get set for life with an enormous contract?  I can guarantee you some are scratching him off their FA lists after this. Who wants to bring someone in who will half ass it then bad mouth you to anyone who will listen when things don't go their way?  His problems have always been above the neck and this is further proof if anyone needed it.

I liked KB a lot, but he did have issues with focus, hands, route running, and commitment...IMO.

Cam did lock onto him too much, but he is a good player....just not a true no. 1.

Don't think he will ever be a super star, but could have a long career in the league if he can stay healthy and in shape.

I find that regardless of how you feel or felt, the competitor’s mindset always has to be in conflict with the past the same as an opponent. There’s always something about the past that you have to rearrange in your head to overcome so you have things for motivation.

KB was overweight but he always slimmed down in a hurry and looked great in July and August. He might just be a practice player. There’s a real difference and I don’t know that he ever had the true fire some guys need to produce on Sundays.
