Best 11 players in Panthers history

I actually like the players listed. However I think Peppers and Luke are above Greg Olsen. If we’re talking on the field dominance.

Michael Bates was the man

Hard not seeing J Stew on there though. But it’s arguable that Deangelo had more talent. He had HOF skills. Lousy teammate compared to Stew though.

.....................Smitty, Peppers, Cam, and Luke should be our top 4 though. Not necessarily in that order.

Absolutely, and it shouldn't even be a debate.

Mills meant a lot to the franchise, but the cold, hard stats mean he's not in the Top 4.

1. Smitty

2. Cam

3. Pep

4. Luke

5. Kevin Greene

6. Moose

7. Mills

8. Olsen

9. Gross

10. Thomas Davis

11. Mike Rucker

Smitty is GOAT WR and first true Panthers HOF player. No Smitty equals no Panthers contention for a decade.

Cam is best QB we've ever had and already legendary stat wise in the league.

Pep has always been a specimen and world beater at his position.

Luke is the greatest LB we've ever had and most likely one of the top 3 MLBs of all time and eventually another Panthers HOF member.

Greene was the Panthers defense for a few early years and one of the greatest LBs of all time.

Moose is forever the best Panthers WR#2 and gave us a lot.

Nothing needs saying about the Field Mouse. Keep Pounding.

Olsen is the best TE we've ever had, and I hope he has a few more years of high level play in him.

Gross was our anchor at LT for a long ass time. He and Smitty MADE Jake Delhomme look like a decent QB.

TD's been a good one for us. A former safety turned deadly OLB, he's been a career Panther and helped tutor our other young LBs.

Rucker is an underappreciated player by most fans. He helped groom guys like Pep and CJ, and made the linemen around him better.

Close but no cigar 11 in no particular order:

Wesley Walls -  Defined the TE position in the NFL for a few years, and groomed guys like Moose early on

Steve Beuerlein - Panthers 2nd best QB ever. Was doing things bigger than Jake ever did, and did it prior to Smitty being a Panther

Anthony Johnson - Was the RB we had been looking for for a couple years. our first thousand yard rusher IIRC

DeShaun Foster - I still think if he hadn't been injured as a rookie, he could have been our best RB ever

Brad Hoover - One of the last of a dying breed... a true FB with the ability to carry primary duties if you needed him to... He paved the way for so many decent RBs

Kris Jenkins - Our divisional answer to and rival of Warren Sapp. He, Pep, Buck, Ruck, Al Wallace, Kindal Moorehead, Kemp Rasmussen, and Shane Burton will probably go down as one of the best DLs in history. Blocked two kicks in one game to help us get to the SB.

Dan Morgan - Luke 0.1 - The Beta Test. Tackling machine

Josh Norman - JNo is one of the better CBs in the league, and he did great things for us in 2015

Mike Minter - Probably closest of this group to cracking the top 11. He anchored our secondary for years, and mentored a lot of our young defensive guys in that span

Michael Bates - y'all better put some respec on his name. He was dangerous every time he got the ball, and was a precursor to Smitty - probably one of the top 3 KORs in history

John Kasay - Our kicker for a thousand years. The last surviving OG Panther.

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
