I read between the lines and inferred (dangerous area) that he did not rehab the injury like he should have.

I didn't read it that way at all.  Just like anybody that is rehabbing a serious injury, it effected his ability to train and prepare his body for the coming season.  I think the team probably sold the fans on him being ready earlier than he really was in order to justify the big contract, but nothing strikes me as him not rehabbing properly.

I hope Kalil improves but what I'm really worried about is Silatolu.

Why?  Silatolu won't be starting, and likely won't even be the primary backup.

Don't be fooled by the team saying Silatolu was getting first crack at the starting spot, he's really nothing more than the rabbit (or pace car for you Nascar fans), that is setting the floor for the competition.  The starter will almost certainly come from one of the following (in order of likelihood): Moton, Larsen, or Sirles.

I would argue that he played as well as or better than the 20th ranked LT in the league, which means he's already outplaying his contract.  Still want better.

Right now, if he just played well enough to warrant the paycheck, we'd be sitting in a much better place. Better would be great but...

Much more concerned about run blocking than pass protection

norv can fix pass game, routes and getting ball out quicker

run blocking killed us LY...didn’t help that stew was cooked

Cj Anderson being literally the best blocking RB in the league will probably help too.

One thing though if anyone's notices but the big name DE and LBs are moving to the right side these days.

I worry this forum worries too much about the left when it's really more the right these days you need to be paying attention to. Granted ideally you want all 5 linemen to be all pros but that's a big ask in this salary cap league.

Good point but left is still QB blind side

Which is why teams got such good LTs causing the best DE to go to the right against the worse tackle. Blind or not unless your Cam or Russel your not escaping an elite DE against the usually weaker RT.

Stewart was considered one of the very best pass blocking RBs as well so it's not like there is a difference in this area.

But it's not a drop off, which is a positive.
