Does Cam have to be Lebron in 2018

he's had to be lebron his entire career. this year he's being set up with all of these so called "weapons" while his offensive line is a garbage fire.

Sorry JBC,  for the most part you have logical posts whether I agree with them or not. Saying Cam “had to be Lebron his entire career” is a stretch man imo.

Love Cam, but at this point,  the only thing that may fit in the the same sentence is potential.

To be fair, two different sports. To be literal, two different levels... until proven otherwise.

An almost impossible expectation although the comparison is fun.

This is a tough comparison when basketball players play both sides of the ball. So, you really need to be more specific with this comparison.

If they really mean, will he need to carry the offense like he has in the past? Then no, that was the purpose in bringing in all of these offensive weapons.

He will not need to do everything on offense like LeBron does - leading the team in every major category? That's why CMC was drafted last year and CJ was brought in this year. You can't have sustained success if your starting QB is also your leading rusher in yards and goal line TDs. Otherwise every team would just run the triple option.

Now I interpreted the comparison as: will Cam need to be the best player on the field every game in order for the Panther to win? I think the answer here is yes. He will need to be able to make plays with both his arm and his legs. I don't think we have the kind of weapons that will allow Cam and Norv to simply out-strategize other teams. Cam will have to make splash plays in the passing game and kill defenses with his legs - particularly on off schedule plays.

I believe Cam will be more than happy to share the spotlight with other offensive weapons.  We went 11-5 last year where Cam had to be the man this year won't be the case.

Cam is a great QB but IMO he has the tools where he doesn't have to be the best player on the field.  If he runs the gameplan as Norv creates than I see no reason why CMC or CJ or anyone of our other weapons be the best player on the field.

I think Cam will have more opportunities to improvise.  The way Norv spreads things out Cam will have many opportunities to scramble for yardage.   Though the sample size is small of games I have seen from Norv offense's.  I have seen where the field was wide open but the QB hesitated to run.  That won't happen with Cam.  I think if he sees an opening for 10+ yards he takes off.   I am predicting that Cam will have more scramble yards than designed run yardage.

This will cause more difficulties for a defense to defend us.  They'll have to employ a spy which will take away another defender for our other weapons.

Everyone has probably heard the discussions about how Lebron is basically carrying the entire Cavs team to the NBA finals, pretty good discussion on GMF about whether Cam will have to do the same thing...http://www.nfl.com/videos/good-morning-football/0ap3000000934883/Does-Cam-Newton-need-to-be-LeBron-to-carry-Panthers-to-playoffs

LeBron1??LeBron?? lol not even the same sport.. Cam is not even to be considered until he gets a Super Bowl win..he's good but not great yet!

NBA smaller teams that play the whole game, NFL bigger team that plays 3 phases, so no one person can do the same.

with that being said, a great quarterback can really pull an offense to put out, but can’t make the defense make stops, and a defense has to be as good as it’s weakest link,..

Comparing the NFL to NBA is silly
