Which are you more worried about Offense or Defense?

Defense- have you seen our secondary?

Not to be funny but No I haven't no one has we basically changed 3 out of five positions we have to wait and see what our new safety RCB and new nickel can do.

Sounds like we better score a shtton of points per game..

I'm not sure about that it sounds like doom and gloom but I believe we will be dominant in the trenches allowing our secondary to flourish. We have a good front to make teams one dimensional and when that happens puts us in a great position. If we got stronger on the DLine and we had a pretty stout run D last year I believe that gets better Seymour with a year under our coaching staff and other additions lead me to believe a small upgrade in the secondary will do wonders for us overall it just seems so logical imo.

Defense, easily.

I'm not worried about the offense because I know what to expect.  As long as Cam is healthy, we'll either be how we've typically been (average) or really good.  But I don't know what to expect from the defense.  Our safeties are terrible.

Not even sure how this is a question:

Offense last year was inconsistent but good enough to keep up or beat the best of teams . Even in 2016 6-10 season we were doing extremely well against Broncos, Chiefs, Raiders . This year we get to vastly improve it with much better WRs, we finally wont have Stewart and KB being force fed the ball anymore, CMC coming in heavier and getting more reps, we have a young bruiser in CJ anderson,  a MUCH better OC. Healthy Cam, healthy Greg, Samuel and Byrd coming back. The only real question is the OLine's health and ability, which admittedly is extremely important. I'd be massively disappointed if the offense stuttered in 2018.

Defensive secondary  is what murdered us last year. At pretty much any given moment, our secondary could be torn to shreds , whiff on tackles, weren't taking the ball away, our dline is old, and we're missing TD for the first few games this season. Even though we finished pretty high in total sacks our dline pressure was extremely inconsistent. Theres alot of pressure on Bradberry to finally make a huge leap in improvement, and for somehow the other scattered cobbled together pieces we have in the defensive backfield to finally work well after 2 strait seasons of terrible performance.

We havnt but have a general idea

We have a #1 who took a Massive sophomore slump and was easily beat last year.  Just a Zay Jones, Julio, and Theilen wide open drop from losing us 3 games

We have Mike Adams who was a older jag last year to fill in

We brought in Searcy who has bounced around as a avg starter in mediocre secondaries in this league.

We brought in a teams castoff in Cockrell because he was a decent zone CB, now our new DC wants to play more man.

We brought in 2 rookies

One a former nickel whi was projected a round 4-6 guy that we're trying to convert to FS, and is one of the least athletic safties to ever come out

And the other is a guy who had the typical stock shoot up after the 4.3 combine.  And while its very little weve seen, it was him getting worked by Austin Duke (a guy fighting for a practice squad spot) in mini camp.

So if these things make you feel warm and fuzzy about our secondary, you really need to take off the homer glasses

Worried most about the defense with question marks at the edges aside from Addison, Peppers, and Horton. Secondary looks like it has been put together with band aids and duct tape.

Feeling good about QB, RB, TE, WR, ST, and LB. OL is the only unit that i'm concerned about on offense.

Defense by far fro me. The only reason i could see someone choosing offense is because they believe that ron could scheme a defense competent enough to compete no matter what. I have alot of faith in offense now with additions of some vets (smith, wright) along with devin funchess who latter part of the year could of started for a lot of teams. the offense besides cam and the oline are really young especially at skill positions. this should allow us to compete as they grow and have them on cheap contracts.

Defense on the other hand... While i know when every one is on their A game (including ron) i think this could be a top 8 D maybe top 5, lot of question marks for me. Will our dline be able to get pressure especially with an aging peppers. Will our linebackers hold up. Physically and mentally, shaq can make mental mistakes when it comes to coverage along with tackling technique. and luke/ Td make me lil nervous knowing their history. Our corners i actually believe will be ok because we will be putting so much focus on them. i feel the team and media has talked about it openly but the safety position not as much. while they bring it up if u look at team actions it shows they feel competent at that position.

Short and Poe better bring the wood every game. The defense is gonna be very avg this year but hopefully the offense rolls

With our secondary both young and shaky we need both Butler and Hall to really step it up or it could be like watching last year’s secondary all over.

I know there are more questions, personnel wise, on defense, but the offensive scheme is a more drastic change. Early on, we may be more settled on D than on O. Hopefully both units can be peaking by mid season. We could survive a learning curve early on with our schedule, but after that things need to be clicking.
