PFF Says the likes of Dak Prescott, Marcus Mariota, and Tyrod Taylor + 2 more are better running quarterbacks than Cam

I am just going to put this here because I think there are some serious misconceptions about what PFF is even trying to do with their grading system.

Also, how did anyone get that this was at all a passing statistical ranking?? The graphic is pretty clear about what the grades are related to.

QBs throw on the run and PFF have done stats on that before. Throwing on the run is one of Wilson and Prescott’s biggest strengths.

It sounds like no one knows what PFF really meant until they offer more detail.

In other words, PFF are click bait dickholes

I mean...they have plenty of ratings for that but they specifically are calling this out as a "run grade." I will say that I could be wrong here but I am about 98% sure that is not what they are trying to get across. Plus, they actually do have grades/ratings/etc for scambles, rollouts, etc.

It says very clearly it's run grades for QBs. They don't need to offer more detail. It says it right there.

Only other thing I can think of is that all of those QBs on that list are better at avoiding contact when running than Cam.

Wilson is a natural slider when anticipating a hit.

It's not a stat. It's their grade. Which, once again, will be diluted for Cam because of a high number of short yardage carries.

If you have one QB who has 5 carries for 30 yards and one QB with 10 carries for 50 yards, you see one has a much higher workload. The QB with 10 carries may have all of the same spectacular carries that the QB with 5 had, but he also had 2 or 3 carries for 2 or 3 yards, that will naturally dilute his grade. It's just part of it.

Thats not what it is at all. It's their run grades.

Cam comes in at 4th when you compare their ypc.

1st in yards.  1st in attempts. Tied for first in TDs. 5th in first down percentage. Tied with Wisconsin's pride and joy Wilson for the most fumbles.

I'm not saying he should be first but I'd be interested to know how they graded.

I literally linked the rough detail of how they grade in this thread.

Not really. It was just 7 posts before your previous post.

Yeah I went back and looked. It got the tldr treatment when I was skimming through.  Just because it was before what I replied to doesn't mean I read it

You are aware that their grading system is on a 0-100 scale, right? Do you realize that you just posted the QB Rating for targets to WR's?

That is why it says "rating" and not "grade."

Not even gonna lie, I just googled PFF rankings images.

No, I have no idea about their grading system other than I get a chuckle out of them every time I see one.

That's pretty much my problem with a lot of what is going on in this thread in general. No one is actually taking the time to try and understand what half of these graphics even mean. For instance, the one you posted isn't even a subjective measure. That is an actual statistic that anyone can compute. That isn't even something that a reasonable person could possibly dispute.

The PFF grades are viewed similarly. People just react without any thought or even attempt to see what they are actually trying to accomplish with their grading system. It's actually fairly sophisticated, albeit still completely subjective.
