Did we win yesterday or what??

we had a very ugly win against a horrible team. there were improvements on offense but we still have huge problems on offense. the other team knows what/when/where jake is going to be throwing. moose even suggested that the other team knows what our offense is going to be doing and when we are going to pass.

our special teams are having huge problems. it was just ugly. against 25+ other teams that performance wouldn't have cut it.

i'll take a win anyway it comes but when i see the team performing horribly like they have been, i'm not going to jump up and down and get happy about it. they beat two of the 4 worst teams in the league. big deal. let us beat someone who has a winning record and i'll feel better. til then all we have done is barely beaten the redskins and the bucs.

The Panthers put a boring/non entertaining/sloppy product on the field week in and week out and wonder why their fans arent enthused about barely beating arguably the worst team in the league. LOL. Remember, not all of us are on the Panthers payroll like some of the posters here. When we have a winning record/beat a quality opponent/make the playoffs Ill cheer, til then, put a better product on the field and you'll get a more positive vibe.

Just to offer this...

Not only does our pessimism ring loudly here on the forums, but it's also a testament as to how things are in the locker room...

Take that for what it's worth, but the bad attitude doesn't automatically start with us fans... Put yourself in a player's shoes and think about the fact that they are dealing with the sentiment first hand, as well as having to hear it from the fans...

Now's not the brightest of times for the Panthers' franchise, but changes, they are a coming...

Jake has had 2 bad games and 2 pretty decent games. He is not the whole problem nor the whole solution. Offense is offense and yesterday we scored 28 points and had over 300 net yards. Our first down efficiency was over 50% and we actually went for it on fourth down and made it.

The liability on the team was not having all phases work together for the win. That was a liability again yesterday particularly in special teams.

Moore has shown no reason to believe he is an upgrade. He has potential nothing else yet.

I don't think he's the whole reason, I just think he's the biggest reason. It's taken me a LONG time to jump on the bench Jake bandwagon, but I just can't stay off it anymore. I think you're very knowledgeable and I almost always agree with you but I don't here. I think Moore is an upgrade. It's not that Moore has shown anything, it's that Jake has shown us everything. That pick 6 yesterday was crucial.

I wish I was on the payroll...I need the money!

All I've got to say is that two weeks in a row we've barely beaten two of the worst teams in the league. Hard to get excited about that. Jake stinks, our special teams aren't very good, and our defense is suspect at times. One bright spot is that our running game finally did something yesterday. Maybe that will provide some momentum.

Just for you Panther55:

The last drive of the game was one of the best drives I've every seen in football. I don't care if it was the Tampa defense. To run on any NFL defense the way they did is absolutely amazing. And it wasn't like Tampa didn't know we were going to try and run the ball.

IMO there were far more positives from the game than negatives.

The thing is, I don't think there's anyone unaware that we're playing uninspired football, yet everyone feels the need to jump up and down and point it out.

It's like if you were visiting a loved one at the hospital trying to be positive but staying realistic and you had a bunch of yahoos screaming "BUT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!!! THE CANCER IS ADVANCED!!!! SHE DOESN'T HAVE MORE THAN A 10% CHANCE TO SEE THE END OF THE MONTH!!!!"

That last drive was pretty damn impressive. They didn't just have 8 or 9 in the box, they had 8 or 9 on top of the damn line of scrimmage. It reminded me of Denver last year when they came out in a base 4-4 package and still got run all over.

tru..good point...I am not starting new threads about how bad of a team we are...Im just agreeing with the previous statements of us having to correct some major problems on our team. Tell this to all the newbies about starting annoying threads and you might not get so annoyed.

I always love a win my friend but the reason why everyone is mad is because with how we are playing things won't matter at the end of the season. The same things are being regurgitated on our team and we are hardly beating garbage teams. We need to really change the mindset of our team on offense especially if we want a chance at the playoffs. So many teams in the NFC this year have a much better chance of going to the playoffs than we are. If we don't change the way we play we are going to have a high draft pick but with no draft pick to show for it. People are mad and they want to know why we didn't blow out the Tampa Bay Buccaqueers.

I call bullshit on the statement that the same things are being regurgitated.

1. the defense is starting to play well. They are still learning the system and were out of position a few times. However, their overall play was a good as our defense for the past several years.

2. The OL got its swagger back in the 2nd half...and we imposed our will in the running game. That is who we are.

3. Jake did look bad again, and this is the one area that something needs to be done.

We giftwrapped a Pick6....gave up another blunder on special teams...and fumbled inside the 3. Outside this, we dominated that game. Take away three mistakes, and it was a 35-7 whipping....which is what everyone wanted to see.

Is this college football or the NFL? Oakland is one of the worst teams/franshises in the NFL. Philly is one of the best teams/franshises in the NFL. Who won yesturday?

Every team in the NFL is made of the best pro athelets in the world. To get a win, now two wins, is something to be proud of no matter who the opponent was or how the win came about. It wasn't too long ago that these Panthers were 1-15 so for me I'll take 2 wins against "the worst teams in the league" any year.

I mean regurgitated on our play calling...I am not saying we didnt play better..I agree..I am just saying that I am happy for the win but we have a long way to go. If we play like we did against the buccaneers against the saints, we will have a serious problem.

..which is what everyone wanted to see.

Herein lies the major issue...

A lot of us KNOW what this team is capable of talent-wise...

Yet week in and week out, we go out and lay an egg, even if it's a sloppy win...

That is the frustrating thing about this team and organization as a whole.. The refusal to see the obvious because of pride in past success...
