Are you on crack? Russell's arm is even more wild than Jake's. He throws all over the place, underthrows, overthrows. And never in the history of the NFL has a QB been so incapable of completing a pass to his wide receivers. Russell has some amazingly talented WRs, and despite how good Zach Miller is, he can't keep forcing it to his Tight End and expect anything to come of it. He's fumble prone, which is ridiculous for someone his size, and would be a huge turnover liability if he threw more than 15 times a game.

OK, I admit it, parts of that description actually sounded a lot like Jake.

This is the most accurate post in this thread.

The thing that seperates the two? Jake actually takes the game seriously, JaMarcus has questionable motivation for the game. I reckon in around 3 or 4 years he may well be out the league. The kid just does not have the determination and drive to stay around much longer than that.

JaMarcus Russell has just as many wins as Delhomme does this season on a worse football team.

What a ridiculous arguement. How do you know if the Raiders are genuinely worse than us? They have a pretty darn good defense. Have done for a few years now. LBs rival ours and have some dominant player who plays CB...

They even have decent runningbacks. Their problem? Throwing the ball. Has been for a while now, but JaMarcus has actually taken their passing game backwards this year.

Jake is not a cancer.

A cancer is something that rots the team from the inside. Jake is the consumate pro and tries hi hardest every play. Something JaMarcus certainly does NOT do.

Wont get an argument from me on that 1. I agree JaMarcus sucks, but outside of the "intangible" quality you described, there isnt that much of a difference between these 2 guys performances. Even with Jake taking the game more seriously his numbers are only slightly better than JaMarcus, and they have an equal amount of wins. I seriously believe that if JaMarcus was our QB there wouldnt be much of a dropoff. I believe JaMarcus has what it takes to hand the ball off 45 times in this offense and throw Jake's usual 15-20 passes and we'd be the same ballclub.

Except that JaMarcus has been fined for being overweight and alegedly missing meetings during training camp. How on Earth can you ever have your starting QB do that? IT's just a sure fire indication that he does not take his job seriously. Ask any of the truely great GMs, HCs and OCs - they all want gym rats as their franchise QBs. The player who is always trying to get better.

Unfortunately Jake is that kind of character, he is just slightly over the hill now. JaMarcus never will be that and due to his work ethic will be out of the league once his time in Oakland is over.

Jake hands down.

Jemarcus sucks, but has anyone ever seen someone w/a better arm that him? He's got the strongest arm I've ever seen..can throw it 90-95 in the air. Can't hit a barn though. Has anyone seen a qb with a better arm?

Better does not = stronger

So yeah he has a strong arm, but pointless using it as he can't hit people around ten yards away consistently

Jake IS a cancer and is the biggest reason why this team is a losing ballclub right now. He's also a big reason the Panthers cant get the entire city behind them as so many people absolutely despise him and everything he represents. Likeability over performance, being praised for showing up while other players have to go out and move the world to get recognition. I dont think you can have a successful franchise that tells its most important player that he doesnt have to play well, just be likeable and marketable to a sect of the fanbase and thats good enough. No other player is as polarizing and splits this fanbase the way that Jake does. Seeing posters on this board throw everyone under the bus to spare the 900 lb gorilla is sad man. If Jake is such a "leader" why cant he translate that to the field? Why do so many people have to make excuses and throw people under the bus for such a clear "leader"?

      Robinson has been solid. Would have loved to see Brown and him more this season. If Wonnum can be decent, then we should grab a couple Edges (1st, 2nd rounds) or grab one and try to grab a linebacker. Very, very early..but Abdul Carter, Landon Jackson, Lander Barton and Deone Walker seems like intersting options.    As far as QBs..Rourke out of Indiana could be an interesting option.
