Smart man.  There aren’t any that

a)have 15+million people in two football crazed states

b)are perfectly located within a two hour or less flight of 60% of the US population

c)will help publicly fund a $1.5 billion stadium

I think St louis will become the new LA for owners wanting new stadiums

Hardy har har.  Ferguson, MO, is in the St Louis metro, a declining, baseball 1st region with VAST issues that already PROVED it wouldn’t pony up.  Not to mention the vastly less populated and less football crazed state of Missouri still has a team.

What.  A.  Joke.

NO public fund$ for a new $tadium!!!

Seems the playbook for owners wanting new stadiums is to ask for a new stadium and if city refuses (Charlotte will), the team threatens to relocate.  After this, the city gives in and ends up building a stadium or paying for the majority of it.

I for one don't look forward to this and make no mistake, this will go down in the next couple of years.  I don't expect the Panthers to ever leave Charlotte and hate when owners use this as a bargaining chip.  If Tepper does't do this then he's a solid guy in my book.

Even threatening, especially given that the threat is utterly toothless, is enough to piss off and prevent a lot of people from investing time, money, and energy buying Panthers gear and supporting the Panthers in all ways.

Either concoct a brilliant plan to make the stadium multi-dimensional which, along with other owners/investors, would bring MLB and MLS to the new digs as well, or make lemonade out of a perfectly capable BOA.  There’s no option C without civil unrest.

Big city politicians love fleecing taxpayers to further enrich their cities elites.  Of course they have to pretend like they don't or they wouldn't get reelected, hence the dance thats described in an above post.  The final result is a shiny new stadium that the politicians will have free access to whenever they want, while they are still able to make the owner look like the bad guy when the cameras are rolling.  Its so utterly predictable.
