Nobody would have said a word if it was an unqualified male who was appointed to run things at an interim level. You can tell how screwed up society is when the same people who are disgusted by Richardsons sexism turn around and react in this way and don't even see how obvious it is. Like the comments regarding creepy old Richardson immediately followed up with comments about wanting to see the ass of the victim.

You mean like how nobody complained when Marty Hurney was named interim GM?

I said the same thing at first, but then had the chance to talk to someone who had actually worked with her.

He said that while it may be sexist, it's actually true. She's not qualified to run the team. And the fact that the Panthers won't let her be interviewed doesn't exactly speak well of her.

That said, I liked that she wanted to fire the team counsel. Granted, that could be a deliberate leak to make her look good, but it's believable.

While it may be true, people that said it was true without knowing an inside source just stumbled into being right accidentally.

Or your source may have an ax to grind.

You can't admit what hasn't been proven yet.  You guys keep claiming he's done an awesome job at team building when they haven't even taken the field yet.   The proof will come when the season is over, not before.

He has done an awesome job at filling holes and getting the players the coaches wanted from the options he had in free agency and the draft. Much better in my.opinion than Gettleman ever did. At this point that is his job and what he is supposed to do. Hurney doesn't control the play of the players or how we do on the field, the coaches and players do. The ultimate decision about the success of the season will occur after the season and is impacted by factors out of his control like injuries, players learning a new offensive system, etc. But given his job duties in the spring and what he is supposed to do he has a done a great job.  Evaluation is not just summative but formative as well. Summative is after the season while formative measured ongoing success that ultimately impact the summative results. At this point Hurney has done a great job. How it ultimately plays out is still to be determined. But you need both kinds of evaluation.

No. People based their judgement of Hurney on prior experience with him. Many years of it. With Becker it was immediately about being a female and a cheerleader despite having no knowledge of her whatsoever.

In the end you can say she did her job successfully. Being put in a difficult situation where literally everything was a disaster and keeping the ship above water until it could be sold was no easy task. In the corporate world (as much as I loathe everything about it)...people gain respect for such things.

All speculation.  He did what the job requires.  How well he did will manifest itself when the season is over.  Again, claiming success or failure before the season starts is extremely premature.

Not denying that people have had sexist reactions to her. Heck, even Dave Gettleman defended her when the chatter started.

Not sure how you define "successfully" though. She's generally considered to be Jerry Richardson's proxy.

Like usual you miss the point. So far he has done a great job for what he was supposed to do- formative evaluation. At the end of the year we will see how the team does- Summative evaluation. Nothing is premature, it is spot on for where we are in the evaluative process. Again you are only accounting for one part of the process which is not how good evaluations are done.
