Charlotte Hornets 11th Pick 2018 Draft

Well, every year we have a small bit of hope and optimism and unfortunately every year since the return of the Hornets to Charlotte we have been disappointed. In saying that I do feel like we can get a good player.

I am leaning towards Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. I feel like he would be a good complement with Malik Monk, which is our future.

Who do you all want?

Him or Knox.  Maybe even lonnie walker. No more undersized players. If we draft a 6'6 power forward in the msu guy ill be pissed.

I was cool on Miles Bridges until semi recently. I've begun to warm up on him. Just curious, what about him don't you like?

He's 6'6 and is a power forward. Knox is a 6'9 small forward, sga is a big point guard, lonnie walker is a big guard.

My 2 cents...if Collin Sexton is there...he's the pick.  If not go with one of the Bridges (assuming Porter or Young don't drop).  Miles certainly isn't going to turn around the franchise but I like his junk dog demeanor.  Mikal I would love to get, sweet stroke and underrated athlete.

so mainly a height issue? I get that. I'm ok with his size bc with his frame he can guard multiple positions theoretically. The thing I don't know is what his defensive potential really is. His athleticism is off the charts tho.

Kevin Knox might be 6-9, but he's kind of a bean pole. I do like SGA.

SGA or Sexton please , both immediately solve our backup PG problem (see: MCW abomination), both are fantastic fits for the longterm next to Monk and both are insurance should Kemba leave next year or we trade him

I'd also be happy with Mikal or Smith if we believe in his potential

No to knox (he would undoubtedly bust/or just half ass it on the hornets), no to miles bridges he's positionless in today's NBA

Should trade Kemba for biggest possible package and draft SGA.

Start SGA and Monk, use the pick from Kemba trade to draft a forward.

This is honestly where I am leaning as well. I really don't want to give up Kemba just to get rid of a contract. I would prefer a top pick in exchange for Kemba. I think the highest would be Cleveland or the Philly pick. Unfortunately, I don't think their would be a way to move up to 5 and get Michael Porter Jr. He is my shoot for the stars pick.

The argument for being positionless though is that the game is kind of trending in that direction. When I watch Boston, they literally have guys that can switch and guard multiple positions on defense, lead the break, create offense, etc. The reason I've warmed up on Bridges is because he's built and has a great frame plus I think his athleticism will allow him to guard 3's and 4's for sure and potentially some 5's and bigger guards. I just really don't know how good he can be defensively. He didn't post great steals numbers at MSU. That being said, I have this strange feeling that he's got this high defensive ceiling with the right coaching.

The main reason I'd choose different players over Miles (Carter, Mikal, SGA, etc) is that for a player that hangs his hat on explosive offensive play, he won't be the best athlete on the floor anymore and his shooting (right now) isn't enough of a difference maker. There are other guys that fill more distinct roles on the team as it stands.

Basically I get the appeal from Miles Bridges, but I'm not 100% there on him being the guy for me right now.
