2018 Summer Transfer Window

Arsenal got a new coach and already signed 5 new players and reports that they are not done yet.  Arsenal had 3rd best scoring team and one of the worst Ds in EPL.  All five players they signed are defensive players.  Going to be a dog fight this season.  Btw Torreira and Guendouzi signed today... both are DMs.  You can tell I’m super pumped.  Wenger had a tendency of playing CAMs as DMs which explain an awful D under Wenger.  Emery went out and bought two actual DMs.

Conte out at Chelsea...no idea what the hold up was but Sarri in.  Now sign some players please!

Way past due lol...got 1 month to figure out the team and buy new players.  I think Arsenal is done, they might get one more player in but that’s it.  7 new players in 6 months.

madrid negotiating with neymar and his father, but neymar is still going to have to go basically nuclear before psg will let him leave. guess we'll see. still prefer mbappe by a pretty wide margin, and neymar might be my number 3 after hazard, because of neymar sr's bullshit that comes with ney.

Neymar is a drama queen.  I doubt Neymar and/or Mbappe are going anywhere.  Hazard is a better option for you.  Not sure if Salah is an option only after one good season in EPL.

i would honestly offer the exact same transfer amount for both of them. psg can't pay both 40 million plus in wages imo. they'll have their entire club asking for more money if they do. it's the reason madrid finally stopped negotiating with cristiano, because they knew everyone would want a wage increase. once you've exhausted all options on neymar and mbappe, then (and only then) move onto hazard which should be fairly painless.

Their owner don’t care about money.  With rising oil prices, those pay raises are nothing to him.

Barcelona is going for Kante...

I currently see Kante on par with Hazard (believe that or not) in importance for Chelsea but we don't know what the formation and squad will be looking like under Sarri.  That said, its pretty clear a shake up of sorts has been needed for a while.  A squad that can't get motivated to play for Conte says more about the players and commitment more than anything.  If we finish 5th or better next year it will be surprising.

If we did sign Jorginho than a Kante loss is lessened but still...so many unknowns right now.  Is Sarri a step up from Conte.  LOL, hell no.

Jorginho is in... I guess Kante on the way to Barca?  Kante was actually one of the brightest players last year if I remember correctly.  Willian was very inconsistent.

Why am I not surprised we've done absolutely zero this window so far? I mean, there's been a few mild rumors going about, but literally nothing.

It's the same story every single year. I expect maybe a low-tier signing in the waning moments before it closes, but this window has been just another fug all summer, and we needed more competition at Striker and left and right back, and another CAM that can create to push and/or sub for Eriksen when he goes out. We lose any attacking bite if he's out for even one game, so we needed somebody to try and fill his shoes.

don't mind me.. gonna go cry in my coffee some more now. Typical Spurs Summer (TSS - trademarked)

You have a solid starters but not much behind.  Spurs have been very successful developing young talent so who knows.
