I know a lot of people on this website were down on Shep near the end of 2017. But I don't think that criticism can be made without recognizing what he brought to the locker room, and his role on special teams. His efforts helped transform that unit.

Yeah, but we had a guy in Webb who played WR, QB, and ST better than Shepard did any one of those things lol.  It's really not that hard to find a quality STer who is also pretty good at his skill position.

She makes it sound like a devastating blow.

Was rooting for him. Guys like him only get so many chances to catch some balls. Had a good first TD, but let us down too many other times. Some guys— like Byrd— have what it takes and some guys don’t. Oh wel.

The release of Panthers wide receiver Russell Shepard should be official by the end of the NFL business day. Shepard wouldn't take a pay cut the Panthers asked for and asked for the release. This will clear about $2.1 million in cap space. Shepard wrote on his Instagram page ‘'It was fun while it lasted.'' Next move is free agency.

wasnt fun for us watching him
