I know a lot of people on this website were down on Shep near the end of 2017. But I don't think that criticism can be made without recognizing what he brought to the locker room, and his role on special teams. His efforts helped transform that unit.

You also can't make the argument that he "had a chance to step up" after KB trade. His work into the rotation was inconsistent and his play matched. Anyway. Wish him well.
