I don't get how the Steelers connection isn't a conflict of interest. Even in separate conferences we're still competing with them, not just in games but in terms of contract negotiations, drafting, etc.

He has to sell his ownership stake in the Steelers to complete the purchase of the Panthers.

The only other two teams in the league that have that do so because they share a stadium.

The Rams have the NFL logo at midfield as well(at least they did in the first year. Though the reason there is less clear. Maybe has something to with sharing with USC and I'm sure they will have their own logo once the new place gets built.

So basically this guy doesn’t have any ideas of his own and is going to basically relocate the Steelers to Charlotte...

Keep in mind these are all educated guesses as to how he’s gonna want to run the Panthers. For all any one knows he could be very aggressive in free agency and retain Hurney. A lot of people are just putting their opinions out there and phrasing it so it sounds like a probability when at this point until we hear from Tepper himself and see how his first few months with the team are like and can get a decent feel for him.

All the rest, I could see. Truthfully, I think the Jerry Richardson statue was going away regardless of who bought the team.

Just because a guy owns part of the most or one of the most popular NFL teams doesnt mean he will do everything down the FA philosophy. Hes an owner. I think this blanket asumption is lazy and a tinge of butthurt. 

 

We will get an owner that will except nothing but success. Thats exciting
