Can CJ get some love?

It is in my opinion that Charles Johnson is quietly having a good season for us and yesterday was his coming out party. With all the talk centered around Peppers and Everette Brown, Johnson has had a solid start to the season. While his numbers don't necessarily jump off the page (8 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 FF) it always seems like he makes a play or two in a game either by hurrying the QB or creating opportunities for others. I'm torn on the whole passing down defensive tackle thing but even then he has got pressure on the QB. I really think he should be getting more playing time but it is actually the few positions where we have pretty good depth (linebacker being the other). Considering he is only 23 and in his 3rd season this is a guy who has improved and could be a Mike Rucker type player for us.

Just wanted to give him some love.

I submitted a post involving the emergence of Charles Johnson earlier and I noticed something about the Panthers that is interesting. This team is filled with young and talented players. Here is a list of guys 27 and younger:

DE: C. Johnson (23), H. Taylor (23), E. Brown (22), Position avg 25

DT: A. Burton (26), N. Hayden (23), IR C. Irvin (24), L. Leonard (25), Position avg. 29 (Only active players)

LB: J. Beason (24), J. Anderson (26), D. Connor (23), T. Davis (26), Position avg. 26

DB: C. Gamble (26), Marshall (24), Munnerlyn (21), Martin (25), Wilson (24), Godfrey (23), Teal (25), Harris (27), Position avg. 25

The offense isn't quite as young

OL: Otah (23), G. Williams (23), G. Schwartz (23), M. Bernadeau (23), Robinson (23), Kalil (24), Position avg. 25 (most of which are backups)

WR: Jarrett (23), Moore (24), Position avg. 28

RB: Williams (26), Stewart (22), Goodson (22), Sutton (22), Position avg. 23

QB: Moore (25), Position avg. 30.

We seem like we have a lot of youth on this team which is a good sign of things to come in the future. However we need some new blood in the wide receiving corps and obviously the QB position. But of any positions on a football team the OL and the QB is where you want your veterens.
