God your dumbass.. You as a human being .. Can't gain weight "and" gain explosiveness at the same time.. To add mass you will lose movement and speed.. It's not a opinion.. Its physical law.  Dummy..

Bwahahaha gotta love “God YOUR dumbass”

because that makes sense .......... you’re......it’s f’n YOU’RE ....it would be “God, you’re a dumbass!”

O.o

If that were the case Jonathan Stewart would now run a 4.3 at 30 years old and 240lbs

He got older and grew. Get you some learning boy.

If you're not going use your brain in this conversation than leave..

No way in hell should I have to explain the process in growing into your peak as human hitting that peak than declining to a grown person..

Your not the same athlete at 3years old to 12 as you will be at 14 to 21.. And the you will start to decline at27 thru 33.. The natural growth of a human being is different than going out and actually forcing body changes thru outside mends..

I think you are being a little too absolute about the issue. It is certainly more than possible to add mass/weight to your body and get some "explosiveness" gains. I assume you are talking about things like vertical jump, speed, agility drills, etc when you reference "explosiveness." May as well define the terms if we are going to have the debate.

Anyway, the point you make about natural speed, agility, etc is valid in that some people have natural abilities. But you often see track athletes, NFL players and other professional athletes add some muscle mass and be able to see gains in speed, vertical, agility, etc. But, it's definitely not a linear scale so you are right about it being the right ratio of adding that muscle mass and maintaining or adding explosive athletic abilities.

That is my point .. And this whole thing started because I said Ridley can't add the mass that Moore has naturally with losing some explosiveness.. You can't gain 20 pounds to a frame not built to carry that and still be the athlete you were.. I was more talking about different body types + plus the right ratio thing..

Perfect example ..

TD was hurt early in his career because he had to make the body changes from being a safety to a LB.. Gaining the weight and Mass needed made his legs more susceptible to injury early on.. Once his body got use to the weight and he hit the right ratio .. No injuries and he able to keep the most of the explosiveness he had naturally...

But being honest even TD lost some of his explosiveness  getting bigger as well..

But you literally said you can’t gain weight but become more explosive.

Even Ridley, who you keep coming back to can gain 10lbs and be more explosive and faster with his frame.

I’m guessing you were not on the debate team, or the football team, and probably didn’t fair too well in science class either.

I come back to it dumbshit because that's the literal reason we are having this conversation...

We are literally having this discussion because of the DJ Moore vs Ridely thread conversation one of your dumbass teammates brought into this thread.. Before you talk about debate skills maybe learn the 1st rule and follow the conversation orgins.. dumb bitch..lol

Oh and you dumb motherfuger I would love to watch Ridely add 10 pounds of muscle on that skinny frame and watch as he stays injured alot and the Falcons get nothing from a 1st round pick... That will be great ..

As a person with a doctorate in human anatomy movement this statement couldn’t be further from the truth.

David Boston, Laron Landry and many other athletes who didn't hit the right ratio says different..

You know what since there are anatomy doctoral recipients in here..

How many athletes can you name that made dramatic changes in weight and mass that also kept or increased their explosiveness/athleticism?

Caveat = we are talking more than 5 to 10 pounds.. We're talking about actually noticable changes to their body beyond growing with age and maturity and was still the same explosive athlete or better (vertical,  speed, agility) wise before the body change.

Don't worry I'll wait.

Glad the hot takes of three atheletes can completely undermine everything it took me 7 years of university education to learn. There’s a reason they have strength and conditioning coaches. Being an athlete doesn’t make you a movement science expert.

    • I want to throw in how much easier it is for a QB to develop and improve with a good oline.  Huge credit to the front office for spending the money on our two guards.  Cade Mays also had a 2nd really good game starting at center.  Love how he has developed and hope he's the real deal. Look at what Stroud is dealing with now in Houston after injuries and problems with their oline.  Strouds accuracy has been greatly affected as it seems like he doesn't trust his protection. Canales is doing a great job developing Bryce.  I think the QB whisperer might be for real. And obviously big props to Bryce.  First round pick that looks horrible in his first year.  Different coaches and systems.  Fans and media are calling him the biggest bust in NFL history and he looked like it in the first two games this year.  Gets benched.  Young man keep his cool and just continued to work and only worry about what he can control.  I hope things continue like this and we end up with a great success story. Bryce Young kept pounding.
    • Outside of Philly (who currently is #3 in pass defense) the rest of our remaining opponents are bottom 1/3 of the League in that regard.  Let's see what Bryce can do versus bad pass Ds.
