What do you think about bringing him home and competing with CAP and Fozzy for a spot?   He got cut by the Raiders but never really got a chance.  He left school earlier than he should have coming off injury and bad season bc his fiancée convinced him to (they are no longer together).  His sophomore year at Carolina he put up 1463 yards, 6.7 yards a carry, 17 TD.   I’m a UNC fan but he was either not utilized correctly his junior year or injured/asthma issue.    I think he’s worth a flyer at least as a camp body.

I imagine we will bring in at least one more RB for camp, seeing that we only have 4 on the roster right now.  Hood might have some good upside.

edit:  forgot about the UDFA...so we actually have 5.  my bad.

I highly endorse this.  I wanted us to draft him badly last year to mentor behind Stewie.  Had he not been snagged at the end of the draft, I think there is a good chance he would have been on our practice squad last year (unless there are red flags I am not aware of).  The dude ran with a purpose.

CMC / CJ / CAP / Whit / Bonnafon <<<< we have 5 on the roster, I actually like Bonnafon over Whit as the 4th, doubt it happens, but I like it none the less, the running back version of Joe Webb.

RB is a position that can easily be found in UDFA. I wouldn’t mind having him for depth or practice squad because who knows what kind of injuries could happen. With the addition of CJ Anderson signing him isn’t a priority.

    • I loved this draft. I think we have 3 starters out our first three picks. Maybe they take a year to develop but I don’t see them taking long.    I think Etiene is going to be a good back up. He’s only 20 so he has a lot to improve on.  I think we will see him be used on special teams this year. He won’t get many reps unless an injury happens because we got two 1,000 yard rb in front of him. I could see Ransom starting but I think he will probably be a back up, maybe playing special teams? I think hes probably got the lowest ceiling of all our drafted players. Cam Jackson will be a back up, probably not a lot of snaps this year. Could end up being a solid player for us.   I love the Mitchell Evans pick. He’s got potential to be our top TE. He had two different injuries that set him back in college but I think if he was healthy he would have been one of the top TE in the draft. I have even more faith in him because ND makes great tight ends. I don’t know if he will play much this year unless an injury happens though. Probably just a blocking TE this year.
    • That's right, I don't remember Hardy but remember the Nails dude
    • Tet isn't Evens. He isn't as quick or uses his body as well, something Evans was known for in school. Tet catches well but he won't be the threat Evans is unfortunately IMO. It was like drafting Bryce and thinking your getting Wilson. Evans ran a 4.53 40, 7.08 3 cone, 4.26 shuttle and at the combine and not his proday. He was also 12 lbs heavier. If your expecting Evans your going to be disapointed unless you give Tet a bit of a discount on expectations IMO. Lol now it's saying they had Tet as a 4.48 at his proday when people were reporting 4.6+ at that time. It's going to be interesting to see what is real and what is BS. Proday numbers are so rounded in positive directions.
