Brett Kollmann draft recap

Recommended Posts

Pretty much spot on with the offense analysis. Thats great stuff because alot of "professional" talking heads get their info about the team incorrect half the time , this dude is really good at what he does.

Its great he mentioned us not adressing the oline in the draft and saying how we seem to have so many "space" players, which is very true. No idea if we will actually switch to mostly a quick hitting passing game but it would make sense if the left side of the oline performs poorly.

IDK about us playing Jackson mostly in nickle and Gaulden at outside CB.. I guess its possible b/c they're rookies and we could be trying just about anything and everything to finally get a functional secondary unit again. But I coulda swore Rivera and Hurney said that they're trying to make Gaulden into a Saftey and they plan to play Jackson alot on the outside?

Jackson isn't an outside corner. It would be a fail on the coaches part to put him there.

Why not?

Doesn't have the technique or size for it at this point in his career. May struggle to get to outside corner type weight. Jackson is RAW, technique wise. People have to understand this isn't a guy that has been playing corner for a long time. You put him outside, in our division against these receivers, you're asking for trouble.

I think he'll prove to be a slot corner his whole career, honestly. He's got the ability to be the best slot guy in football, which is an important position. Maybe he develops into more, but that's where I see him.

Donte can.play outside.

Obviously you wouldn't want him lined up against Evans or Jones, but Ginn, and other normal size receivers, donte can play.

Can he? Decently. But he's much better in the slot. He went to DBU for crying out loud. They played him in the slot, where he excelled.

I've watched every game of the mans career lol.

Tbh I’d be ecstatic if we looked at him to play free safety. LSU showed a few looks out of there for him and he reacted and did well.

Of course, he likely won’t. But doesn’t hurt to dream.

I think that would be another area where he'd excel. Again, a position you'd like to see him put some weight on for, but allowing him to sit back and survey and use his speed to attack the ball would be interesting, to say the least. Last year they kind of moved him into the TM7 role. I liked him there.
