Why haven't we signed Tre Boston Yet?

All of the safeties on the market have yet to sign with a team because they are asking for too much. 

In our defense the FS’s role has always been the same. “Keep everything in front of you.”

I understand why the staff doesn’t want to pay someone 5-10 mil to play deep center field.

I don't understand why so many people seem ignorant of this.  No one is signing Free Agents right now, all the action that I've seen league-wide involves teams re-signing their own players or creating cap room.

Next week at this time we'll start seeing movement.  Until then, threads like this aren't necessary.

3 things

1, for a team that doesn’t put value in the defensive back field we sure have spent a lot of high picks on defensive backs in 2 of the last 3 drafts.  The story that we don’t value players in the defensive backfield is nothing but a pure lie and our recent drafts are proof of that! our problems with keeping quality players in the defensive backfield comes from salary cap problems from Hurney that kept us from keeping Mike Mitchell and “ DG going full retard and withdrawing the franchise tag on Norman when he could have made him play for us another year(said at the time the move was dumb as hell and come back to bite us, which it has)

2, we aren’t singing anyone before May 10th so we don’t lose our comp picks in next years draft. So don’t hold your breath if you’re expecting a signing soon.

3, (best for last) There are 31 other teams not signing Tre Boston, if he was so good then why hasn’t anyone signed him yet, Chargers included? Because he really isn’t that good. Y’all really need to get your heads out of your butts and realize that he panthers aren’t the only team in the NFL that goes through an offseason, or by god gameplans and plays regular season games too!

the guys claiming we need to fire both the HC and GM need to get their head out of their ass and learn how the NFL works. There aren’t any good options at safety available really, our best chance to upgrade was he draft and for some fuging reason we went with a player in the 3rd that couldn’t start at safety in college.....(yeah that was a bad pick)

the only decent option out there that hasn’t been picked up is Eric Reid who is now suing the NFL(good luck with that buddy). And I’m perfectly fine with that. People should know that when you’re in a uniform representing an entity on their dollar, and you start a protest that ends up costing them money you’re not going to be employed very long.

The NFL has nothing directly with what the players were protesting. And am perfectly fine with them running him out of the league for that.

i watch sports to get away from the rest of the BS going on in the world, keep your damn politics out of my sports/entertainment and I promise to stay out of your politics.

Let's clarify one thing:

It is true that Ron Rivera doesn't put a high value and safeties. That doesn't mean he thinks they're useless.

Rivera is one of those coaches who's a bigger believer in pass rush than coverage. Because of that, he's always going to devote greater resources to the front seven. The fact that we now have a line coach running our defense probably doesn't change any of that.
