Hurney " Gaulden has a learning curve but in time he will be a solid player for us"

Hes not lying

Yes he is. I cannot believe Panthers fans have the nerve to say that Boston is all of a sudden an elite safety. This guy was a good role player for us honestly. But a terrible starter who couldn’t cover anyone. He was put in a situation in LA to succeed. One or two INTs he had out of the five were thrown right into his chest. Hayward, King and co covered Boston’s deficiency.

I guess Cox is this year Byrd

No idea.  Just do not dismiss him yet because he is more to the FO than camp fodder.  They signed him off IR, he got injured. He could become a Byrd, but I have no idea other than what I heard about RR liking him a few months ago-nothing since.

Yep! Boston may not be total butt, but we can certainly do better! Mitchell is several years removed from being a little above average. Vacarro was worse than both of them put together last year.  That's a trio of sustained inconsistency.

You guys keep harping on S, and it's May 1st.

There is a good bit than can change before then and now, most of you whined that we needed a DB, we got what is considered one of the best in the class in Jackson, some of you whined about a WR, we got the #1 on the board at the 24th pick, and now you're whining that we drafted a S in the 3rd...rarely does a team expect a 3rd round pick to come in and start right away.

We will be fine at S with DB's that take the pressure off outside, and a good front seven. Adams graded out very well, Searcy brings additional experience, and we have Cox, and the rookie to look at, and even beyond that -- there are still very good safeties available with athleticism, and mobility.

If we could afford not to draft anything it was S this year due to what was available in FA before, and what will be available now and at an even cheaper price now after the draft.

Exercise a little common sense and the worries won't bother you so much, I'd be more concerned after TC / pre-season and we still see struggles, but not May 1st. Try a little optimism, and try to see the bigger picture vs a perceived roster hole, that we did address, even if it's not your preference.

Jackson is 5'10". You want that on Mike Evans? Dude's a nickel but formidable for a 2nd round pick. Our secondary is still the worst in football right now.

This draft literally equated to projects, which is the absolutely worst way to go into a draft that no one thought off. It's worse then drafting for need. Technically, DJ is a project where as Ridley would have been an impact player. They're hoping DJ fits into a scheme rather than just doing all things right. Jackson and Gaulden, according to hurney, have no true starting positions. You think this staff will get creative or innovative? Has it ever outside of Chud? And then the rest of the draft continued to be Hurney's jackoff fest of potential linebackers and DT's. The TE is also going to be used for blocking. There will be no double TE routes as extensive as it was under Chud. Mark my words, this will be the worst draft this franchise has had, especially since Hurney is so good at picking out receivers. Watch him get hurt and then next year none of these guys are starting opening day 2019.

Bitchin.  We have a huge hole at safety in need of immediate repair, and this dipshit picks a project with numerous legitimate safety prospects still on the board.

Plenty of safeties still out there that we can sign beginning May 10th which would have no impact on next year comp picks and be able to start right away.

Funny thing... that creative and innovate era you are alluding to. Guess where Chud got all that creativity and innovation?

R tard-Dootard

He will be covering D Jax.

Bradberry will be covering Evans.

Our secondary is going to shock you.

Here's another Hurney quote from the pre-draft presser.

Quote

"Obviously we would love to keep adding parts to the secondary, as well as other positions. It's going to depend how the draft falls. We are not going to reach for somebody because he plays safety."

Half of this board was okay with spending our 1st on  Justin Reid. He went at pick 68. The GM's league wide spoke on how they viewed this years class at the safety position.

How many of you would have believed pre-draft that Edmunds would go 40 picks before Reid? Or that Bates would be off the Board at 55? Or that Tracy Walker would go ahead of Ronnie Harrison?

So maybe Harrison wasn't so great after all?
