Did anyone else want to see “more” while watching D.J Moore’s tape?

Calvin Ridley was on the board who embodies what a pure WR inhibits (crisp routes, separation, stretching the field, RAC etc). He performed at a high level vs elite SEC competition since he was a freshman but we passed. Only to be drafted by the Falcons with the next pick who have shown the ability to scout the position through the draft and FA at a high rate.

Ew I get your point on Moore but don't act like Ridley is perfect either. A 24 year old who is mainly bleh and average from what I see.

Just no.

Not Saying Ridley is perfect either but he was just my preference out of the two wideouts.. But I’m a retired 24 yr old D3 athlete with a man bun so what do I know?

Time will tell.

I’ll just remember to bump this thread if Ridley turns out better  since I’m getting hated on for having a personal opinion. I guess we are all expected to be sheep and agree with every pick our awesome staff ( Hurney, Rivera,) make

I think I will go with Dj Moore bc Ridley was on a team that had a decent Qb and run game. He was double covered a lot too. DJ was with several below average qb and eun game not Alabama. Never say Maryland play but I'm pretty sure Did was probaby covered just like Ridley being the #1 wr. It will be hard to compare the 2 unless our wrs turn out to be studs. Atl has Julio who is already a well established #1 and a great supporting cast. We are hoping that 5th will become that. Either way you look at it it will be a disadvantage to compare seeing that they are coming to 2 different teams on the opposite side of the spectrum.

and what was the last year we actually had  a good all around draft? 2013?

Happens every single year, no matter what. Most will like one or two picks and everyone argues over the rest. Everyone of these players could contribute but at the end of the season you'd still see threads on how bad this draft was. lmao

Moore isn’t a “pure WR”. As I said in another thread this organization loves to sacrifice skill for versatility.

Norv better know exactly what he’s doing with Moore or this pick will blow up in their faces and it’ll sting even more knowing Ridley was there.

You don’t need a good QB to assess a WR on a lot of things.

2018 NFL Combine, Saturday: After measuring in bigger and more explosive than expected, Maryland wide receiver DJ Moore has been one of the bright spots of the Combine. Throughout most of the Friday's workout, Moore also looked the part of a potential top 40 pick. However, he did fail to track and haul on a couple of passes thrown over his shoulder, including one particularly well-thrown post-corner by Shimonek. With so much of his production at Maryland derived from quick screens and underneath routes, scouts will be looking for improvement by Moore in this area at his Pro Day. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftscout.com

We already have Funchess he struggles with over the shoulder balls.

I really hope the plan is to use Moore a lot like the Dolphins use Landry. I think Moore can be successful in that type of role. But all these Steve Smith, Antonio Brown comparisons need to stop. Antonio Brown has some of if not the best footwork when it comes to his route running, that’s not Moore at all.

Dude i said that he reminds me of Percy Harvin.

And when he did his press conference he compared himself to Harvin and Landry.

Which is fine. I guess they figure Torey can be the pure deep threat on outside. But you can always scheme guys open.

Maybe Moore/Samuel does the  9 route in slot  similar to how  Falcons schemed open Taylor Gabriel. That would be great.

Offensive Coordinators did it with Harvin also when they wanted him to run 9 routes.
