Mel Kipers Panthers Draft Grade (ESPN Insider)

Draft grades are fun.  Sure, they are all based on projection, rather than accomplishment.  It's nice to get a "good" draft grade.

But what it's going to come down to is how well they actually perform.  If our rookies help push us to the SB, then who cares what the April grade was.  With the adjustment to the NFL AND the CBA limiting the amount of time players have with teams and practices, it's going to be a long time before they can accurately be judged.

Draft grades are quite amusing to me.  Unless done...3 ? years later I cannot put any validity to it.

The 'experts' put in their rankings for each position.

The 'experts' than determine what they think each team's needs are.

The experts give a grade on how well the team matches their own little table.

The issues with this seem self evident.  We know we took the first WR off the board...yet the experts differed in the best WR.....this is true for every position...but still we see these 'grades' like they mean anything.
