So what scouts do we have

Well after seeing our draft I’d argue it didn’t seem like we lost a single scout.

This was a very Carolina Panthers like draft. Take a bunch of dudes we could’ve grabbed a round or two later, some after the draft while passing on guys that would’ve plugged holes.

We are who we are for a reason and this weekend was par for the course

As to the topic, well he's not listening to Khary Darlington anymore (for reasons).

The best source I've found for information on scouts and other staff is the annual media guide. You can still find them online as far back as 2011. Getting the older ones does require a little searching.

Obviously, that's not enough to the minute resource, but it's good information. Honestly, not that many teams list their scouting staff on their websites, but some do.

USA today gives draft a C- and that's high. Whoever said people were giving us A's were clearly full of poo

Those grades are always horrendous.  They are never an accurate representation and 5 years down the road, most of the "A" are closer to D's or F's.   Look at the Saints ratings last year after the draft.  No one knows because drafting is only 1 part of the equation.  Coaching, or better yet the ability to scheme the talent you have into winning situations is mostly what it comes down to.  Physical talent and ability is of course a huge part, but it's all a bunch of educated guesses and the "scouts" get just as many wrong as right.

    • It's sort of funny you guys were so bad with 3s tonight about the same time Silver and LeBron both say the game is broken due to too many 3 attempts. The NBA is almost unwatchable. No defense, refs call fouls for almost anything, guys care more about looking pretty on the court than playing tough, etc. Today's NBA is putrid.
    • It's gotten more complicated with the change of CBS and FOX no longer being exclusive AFC/NFC partners From a home team perspective, the NFL requires the home market (which is typically the broadcast reach of the station airing the game) to carry the game. For times where there is a conflict (let's say, FOX Charlotte is airing some major news event) then the broadcast will go to a local station that FOX Charlotte has an arrangement with -- like the CW, maybe.  Only in super-rare instances would local FOX throw the game over to a major competitor like to WSOC/ABC. But it could happen This is how games that are "exclusive" to streaming will end up being broadcast by a local channel in those home team markets -- because the NFL wants the local market to be able to see the game.  Amazon TNF games will always be available on some local channel in those teams' markets, for example. Or the upcoming Netflix games For TV markets that do not have a local team, then the local station gets to choose from what's available. Ideally, they'd choose a regional game or one that is close in the conference.  In Atlanta, for example, we would typically get one of the NFC South matchups for times when the Falcons aren't playing.
