NFC south....which team has improved the most?

I will say the Falcons took a huge step back this year. They drafted Oliver to play in a division whos top teams are using fast WRs that can beat the jam. They gave absolutely no protection to Matt Ryan and face two top teams who are building pressure on the line. They did add another fast WR but in all reality that was their strength last year while ignoring DT that will allow teams to control the run game.

The Saints did a better job than most think but at a high price. Cam Jordan gave us fits the first game last year and they added another DE who could make matters worse. But after that most picks looked to be depth related.

The Bucs added what looks like a very good draft. Vita Vea adds depth to what the bucs are trying to do and that's stop the run and cause pressure. With both New Orleans and Carolina moving away from bigger WRs and more shifty players both in WR and RB I can't see why this was a bad choice. After that they addressed losing Martin which didn't improve them but also didn't make them worse. Overall two really good players so not a bad draft.

The Panthers solved one of their biggest problems of last year with DJ Moore. Moore is a physical WR who played well despite his teammates in college. This gives Carolina a guy that complements Funchess very well. They address another need with Donte Jackson. The Panthers were terrible last year at DB and only overshadowed by WR. Jackson brings speed to a position that had none last year. After that it's a wash because players are developmental.

Overall with needs being applied here is how I see it.

1) New Orleans - They added a pass rusher to a unit that was already a playoff team. Their team will be better with just that pick. Not much loss in the off season means they could risk more.

2) Carolina Panthers - They needed to solve quite a bit with the loss and lack of players. They addressed two with Moore and Jackson. Guard and Safety were ignored. We were a playoff team last year but I'm not sure we improved much and it seems NO did.

3) Tampa Bay needed defensive help on the line and secondary. They did improve with Vita Vea but they also spent heavily in FA trying to improve that same line while ignoring other areas. I think the trade hurt them because Fitzpatrick was a better choice and would have improved a terrible secondary.

4) Atlanta - Atlanta was ok last year and needed a really good draft to improve. With that said their biggest problem last year was run defense and protecting Matt Ryan. Neither was addressed and expect both New Orleans and Carolina to take advantage. Both teams will be matchup nightmares for Atlanta.

You realize that Matt Ryan was sacked a career low last year right? PFF rated the Falcons the #2 OL in the NFL... The biggest weakness was at RG and they upgraded signing Brandon Fusco who had a solid year with SF. I have no idea where this myth came that the Falcons need OL help. WR was a bigger need than OL easily. Falcons should have best OL in the South.

Thomas, Evans and Funchess are bigger recievers so there are not just speedy recievers in the south. Oliver fits perfectly in Quinn’s scheme and he even thought about taking him at #26. Senat was drafted in the 3rd round and he was one of the best run stopping NT in the nation last year..also had 6 sacks.  Think this an A+ draft honestly.

Also the Falcons have nothing at WR outside of Julio and Sanu. No idea where you’re getting that the Falcons couldn't use a speedy WR.

Who out there has the knowledge Norv has on players that is just as good as he is as OC? There aren't people that is like Norv and do what he can and he is what this team needs.

Norv has so much knowledge that he was unemployed last season. And his disciple, Chudzinski, is running a trash offense in Indy. And *his* disciple, Mike Shula, did jack for us the past two years.

Time to move on from Norv and find something else. It isn't working. We've had a top ten offense what, twice in seven years with Cam? Maybe three times?

You know this how?. Making a comment like this makes no sense since Norv hasn't been in Carolina one season yet and you are already saying he failed. Don't condemn anyone until facts present themselves.

We've been running a Norv Turner-esque offense for the past seven years...

But the guy trying to run it drew up plays with crayons.

The fact that you have to actually say this or explain how the person actually calling the offense has more impact on said offense than the person who created the offense says all you need to know about the IQ of homie o'er dere....the NFL still runs plays/schemes that dead people came up with decades ago.....

These damn noobs/nobody Huddlers been extra trash lately....or more alts trollin?

I think Atlanta’s Defense will take a huge step backwards.  They struggled two years ago before bringing Poe in to anchor that Dline...losing him and not replacing him in FA or the draft will be a huge impact.

C’mon Poe is good but in no way is he the sole reason why the Falcons Defense took a step forward. Neal, Takk, Vic, Tru, Alford, Neal, Deion, Grady and maybe De’vondre are all more important.

Not to mention the Falcons drafted Deandrin Senat from South Florida in the 3rd round to replace Poe.

OK Falcons fan ignore good logic. I'm going to laugh when KK and Poe break Ryan in half and your big slow CB gets torched by Moore. Enjoy the bottom of the division.

Both the Panthers and the Saints are going to drop 40 on your defense. You guys have no answer for either team.
