Infinity Wars spoilers discussion

Thought it was fantastic, if not depressing. All my random thoughts below:

Spidey going out hit hard. He sounded like a scared kid in the moment, top notch acting. I read the theory that he felt so scared and worried from the situation because of his spider sense so he could feel that something bad was happening before it did.

I know they are going to have to bring a lot of those guys back, but it still was a shocking and a bit depressing to see so many heroes get the ax at the end.

Also, Thanos was done so friggin well. Great villain. He wasn't evil for the sake of evil, he was a fleshed out character with logical (if not flawed) motivation and a plan for the end game.

Drax is the funniest character in the entire MCU. Bautista is nailing it.

Rocket and Thor teaming up was a fun sidequest. Bucky picking up rocket and doing a 360 death circle was great.

The ironman death fakeout was super well done. I thought for sure he was dead, but Strange saved him (most likely because he knows Tony is needed in the end game).

Thanos' arm got fudged up after he snapped. I wonder why and what happens after that.

Great movie, I loved it and I can't wait for the next one.  I'm seeing a lot of comparisons to the empire strikes back, and I get that vibe. Closes this chapter of the story while still leaving it unfinished.

I think Loki and Vision are dead dead. I have a feeling that the third GoG will be centered around the team trying to find Gamora because they believe she is still alive, wouldn't be surprised if Thor makes a cameo appearance in that movie. I'm sad Loki is gone because I feel like he could have really helped in this film and maybe died toward the end but it seems like they wanted to set the tone for Thanos early and it worked.

Tbh Vision has never really worked for me and I wasn't that upset he died, felt bad for Scarlet Witch as she has now had her mother, father, brother and lover die.

I definitely think Captain America is going to die for real in the next one, probably sacrificing himself for Tony. Tony will give up being an Avenger in the next film for Pepper. Thor will return to rule Asguard wherever that is, maybe Titan. Bruce and Black Widow will go off on their own. Hawkeye will retire. Thus all original avengers will be gone. Starting the new wave of: Black Panther, Bucky (Captain America), Spiderman, Scarlet Witch, Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel, Antman and Wasp, probably someone else I'm forgetting. Would be really, really cool if Black Panther's sister became the new Iron Man.

Those madmen might try to pull off Secret Wars next with Captain Marvel and the skrull.

Evans hasn't really said he is DONE with Captain America, he just says, he isn't under contract past the next movie.    I seen him on GMA and it really seemed like he'd be down for more.    Downey acts like he's done but could still be a negotiation tactic.

Know a guy who works as a set dresser for Marvel and other films. He says RDJ RUNS the fuging show. They don't fart without him knowing. If he's late to shoot, they wait and don't say a damn word.

He's making so much money off this stuff, it's crazy. He might walk away soon, but I wouldn't necessarily count on it.

My main problem with the end was that it leaves no doubt that it all gets undone in A4. I know its staying true to the comics but i think they had an opportunity to throw a massive curveball and properly kill some of the original avengers, leaving the new guard introduced by Captain Marvel to actually Avenge something.

Can you imagine how much more powerful the ending would have been if we had just cut with Cap's body or even the funerals of the fallen avengers? I dunno, I keep going back to the original Death of Superman comics for an example of when they did super hero deaths properly.

I'd wager that you'll get this in spades for A4  Evans has been pretty vocal in that his interest is being more behind the camera than in front of it.  As many sad pandas as there were this go-around, there will be lots more next year.

I'm not surprised.   He kind of put MCU on the map with Iron Man.     Also that deal he made with them for the first movies to get a percentage..... wow.     But I respected him for going to battle to get Hemsworth and other people better pay.    They wanted to pay Hemsworth like $500k to do movies at one point (I know it's a lot but the movie is making a billion).

wouldn't be surprised if keeps an advisory role in the films like a wise sage without putting on the suit and then for one of the big movies in the future he puts on the suit again

would be a perfect gig for RDJ he would get paid booku bucks for a couple of lines in an occasional film

I think it implies that so much power was generated from "THE SNAP" that the gauntlet was destroyed. It probably puts to rest any hope of the heroes using the gauntlet to reverse its effects, or Thanos still having the gauntlet in A4.

I read an interesting piece about how audiences process the ending of Infinity War in this internet "information age", and how our brains don't absorb the information and instead we ask "what's next".

Imagine seeing Infinity War without knowing there isn't a Spider Man sequel planned, a Black Panthers sequel, Guardian sequels. Imagine if you felt the loss of these people (not to mention half the universe) in real time like the characters in the movie are feeling. It's pretty damn heavy. I imagine children watching Infinity War may get this raw emotion. As an adult knowing the deaths will have to be reversed somehow, I feel somewhat robbed of that experience.

I was excited for the kids next to me in the theater watching Infinity War. I can't imagine what it must be like to watch these films as a wide-eyed kid. I remember watching the made for TV X-Men movie Generation X as a kid and wondering if Hollywood would ever make a great comic book movie. Infinity War is the new standard for ever comic movie from here on, and that's a damn high bar to reach.

Which comes out first though? A4 or GoG3? Because ... Mantis, Drax, Star Lord, and Groot are gone. There is no team, lol. Except the rabbit!

I think Stark will sacrifice himself, not Cap. But is the Soul Stone a one-for-one? Meaning a lot have to sacrifice themselves to bring the others back? Or will Tony doing it be enough? I think the dream about Pepper and him having a kid will ring true, and he'll definitely be making the ultimate sacrifice. I don't want him and Suri to be able to somehow use tech no bring people back. That's weak.

Pretty sure he has the power now to fix it. Nebula is the only way the gauntlet gets away from him.

Avengers is out before Guardians 3 (which is 2020 I believe).    There is only two movies between Avengers 4, Ant-Man/Wasp (in July) and Captain Marvel next year in March.
