not as critical as some other positions we could go into the season with what we have and be fine...

Our secondary may be adequate but on paper right now they’re below average at best, so our front 7 must be suffocating to get through February with the ring.

he is a late bloomer, but a perfect #2 TE because he can block.  I dont care how many yards he had at Indiana---we arent Indiana.

I wanted him in the third.

The theme this year? Give Cam weapons and fix the secondary.  thought I should explain that to you novices.:eyeroll:

Exactly... no one knows how these picks will pan out (literally no one) bc even can't miss guys can get hurt, not be motivated, be in a bad system fit.

Hurney tried to address  the most pressing needs on the team and didn't reach. What more is some magical other GM going to do.

I know some people bang the BPA philosophy but it has to line up somewhat with need also.

Gettleman hot a homerun in 2013 bc the BPA lined up with our most pressing needs.

That became less and less the case with each passing draft and his philosophy seemed scattershot to either draft BPA or just need without a good balance of both.

I have no problem with any of the picks. I hope they work out but I have no control over anything

We didn't do anything stupid. The draft is inherently a crapshoot whether fans want to believe it or not

    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
    • This was evident first two weeks of season. I don’t see any issues with physical tools since he came back. I think he is a player that must play with confidence to overcome those size limitations and he’s doing that.
    • Still 3-10 on passes over 15 yards.  At least he's not scared to merely attempt them anymore.  Where I see improvement is the 10-15 yard range.  He was 6-6.  Bryce of old was scatter shot on anything beyond 10 yards and the further out, the worse the accuracy.
