it's a good show. witty writing. great tits. totally unrealistic premise and plot lines, but that's why it's on tv and why i watch it. 7/10 on the entertainment scale.

Well I can't speak for the series as a whole, but for the first few episodes I can clearly argue that there is a plot developing.

I think a lot of the Californication haters and the ones screaming "No Plot, Bah Humbug!" are folks who generally don't care for David Duchovny as a person and who find the show to be self-indulgent ego stoking for him. Duh'yeah, what did you expect? That's the great thing about not giving a flying fug about celebrities' real lives. I don't know enough about Duchovny as a person to have an opinion of him outside his roles. All I know is that I enjoy the show.
