Still can't believe Hurney passed on Oliver a 6'0 200 pound db with long arms who was the best available at that time we picked.smh

Oliver would probably been a starter from day 1. Jackson is a nickel back. Hopefully Jackson proves us wrong.

Jackson is a starter Oliver not

we came away with an undersized corner and a DB we’re going to convert to safety

yep, sounds like marty’s drafting again

Remind everyone for the record....

Just how good is Hurney's track record when he drafts someone to switch positions?

Gaulden FS? Hahahaha

He’s a slow box safety at best. It made no sense to pick him

Quite a few scouts had Gauldsen as a top 50 prospect.

The Steelers drafted a DB a lot of teams had a 5th round grade on

None of us really know. Hurney liked Josh Norman when he scouted him, but I guarantee you no one even within the Panthers  viewed him as a potential all Pro.

Dewayne Jarrett seemed like a sure fire prospect given his pedigree and college success.

Mel Kiper gushed over Jimmy Clausen.

There is no exact science in drafting.

And there are no awards or consequences for being write or wrong on a message board.

I just hope these guys pan out.

Our secondary and lack of WR gave us no chance in the playoffs last year.

We are trying to address. Time will tell if we are successful

Roughly 12% of 3rd round draft picks become starters in the NFL. To expect to hit on two is absurd. Hell only about 17% of 2nd round picks become nfl Starters

Now tell me the math on 5th round picks

We wasted a second round pick on a slot corner when we have 2 other guys who play slot already on the roster ahead of him. He's undersized both height wise and weight wise, and we are in a division with Mike Evans, Julio Jones, and Michael Thomas, and our solution is a 5'10" 178lb feather.

Then we got some tweener who doesn't have a true position in the secondary because Hurney loves to draft converts in the 3rd.

Day 2 screams vintage Hurney to me.

I give it a D just because they technically drafted positions of need, but there were far better prospects available at the time.

My sentiments as well.  We have some serious wr match ups SIX times. Christian Kirk is similar to Moore and bah. I'm not gonna spend anymore mental bandwidth.

Hope these guys pan out.
