A #3 WR HAS to emerge

#3WR won't matter.

jake won't throw it to him except in desperate situations out of panic because he waited too long for smith and moose to get open.

he is predictable now when he is going to be targeting rosario as well, which is why rosario was shut down.

this is the most uncreative and predictable offense there is. we wanted a game manager but are stuck with someone who manages to let the defense know what we are going to do. playcalling doesn't help either.

If not then nothing is going to change.

You get a #3 to step up, or at least the coaching staff allows Moore to play then and only then does that open up the rest of the offense.

Dante could be that guy but dropped some nice ones today. Far too many other teams consistently go pretty deep in passes caught. This creates up match up problems and we have said it a ton this team is too easy to gameplan for.

Jake can't get past his #1 and #2. It's as if his brain stops working at that point

Am I the only one who thinks it's stupid to experiment in the passing game in the middle of a season with a turnover prone quarterback? I'd rather let teams keep doing what they are to handle our receivers.. at least then we know what to expect all season long. Please stop wishing for more plays from the passing game.

Our defense is finally looking semi motivated (albeit against bad teams, but this bad team run could get their confidence going, it's like realtime practice) Would you really want us to pass the ball just to get it into the hands of the third receiver so that they CHANGE their coverage? I'd rather run into coverage that I know they'll be playing simply out of respect of Steve Smith.

guys. dont take a few points and run to the top of the overhaul mountain.

I said EMERGE. Meaning, step up, make a play, DESIRE the ball.

And yes. I DO want to throw to another WR so the def will change coverage.

Thats what smart, good teams do(well, maybe that answers it right there).

Saints had 7 dif people score. Then some will say its Brees or talent. Yes to both but its also realizing the best way to stop a great pass rush is to make the other guy adjust.

This isn't hard to figure out. If you think the running game will take this team to the playoffs your crazy.

There needs to be just enough of a threat WITH the running game to do that. Based on the current WR setup, ain't gonna happen.

How about a number 2 receiver before a #3, no offense to moose but he's pretty much become an extra lineman. You worry about a #3, correct me if I am wrong but isn't Moose's contract up this year. Will we bring him back because of a lack of options? appears Jarrett isn't ready to step up. Moore could develope into a nice 3rd option but I don't see him starting. Smitty isn't getting younger either, our WR problems could accelerate very quickly.

PSTALL...love ya man....but you have to understand nobody can emerge when they are being held down, and not given the chance.

Fox is as stubborn as the day is long. Fine, don't think it is him, then SOMEBODY is to keep players on the PS, or bench that have shown nothing but potential.

Somebody is accountable, and until the player can get on the field, I'm not blaming them.

I seem to remember Jake spreading it around a good bit when we actually had 3 good receivers. And he spread it around whenever Smith has been out. Why the hell wouldn't he want to feed the ball to Smith in years past? It worked didn't it? I'm sure the FO has said to themselves 'well Jake only throws it to Smith so we have no need for other good receivers'.

We have options. We just don't use them. No player can step up if he isn't given the opportunity to step up.

Well, if you're talking about Jake not using them, he has actually been trying to throw the ball to everybody this year. Shoot, his only TD passes have gone to Rosario and King. If you're talking about the fact that the Panthers rarely put the #3 WR on the field, then you're right. He can't use Jarrett or Moore if they're not in the game, but he has targeted both of them this year in the few plays that they were in the game.
