There's definitely been an emphasis on YAC players, first CMC, then Samuel, and now you add legitimate 1st round receiver talent that can run the tree (per Norv) and has tremendous YAC ability.

The quality of life improvements around Cam at the skill positions were a must, and so far the needs have been met. Factor in Funchess as the intermediate threat along with Olsen, while we have a possession receiver in Wright, and guys like Smith, and Byrd to stretch the field vertically, it's hard not to be excited right now!

CMC, Samuels and Moore all seem to have the same body type, style of play and capabilities.

A smart OC can make a lot out of that. Add in a strong armed, capable and mobile QB and we might be a nightmare scenario for defenders in the NFC South.

Those three guys have incredible opportunities to make the most out of a short passing game with Smith as the burner and Funchess as a big possession-type receiver.

I'm really getting optimistic about all of this!

His skill set (especially the YAC) would make him a great fit in a West Coast system.  We don't run that, of course.

That said, the same thing could have been said of Steve Smith.

I'm not sure he's as much the "deep threat" guy as Torrey Smith is.  Moore will probably be used a lot on short routes where the expectation is he'll take the ball and make something out of it.  Maybe a hat, a broach, or a pterodactyl...or better still a touchdown.

Given the shape of our line right now (barring additional improvements) having a guy like that could be really important.

Curtis Samuel was drafted to do exactly what you just said.

So by people saying Moore is the missing piece to this offense they’re finally admitting that Samuel can’t be counted on.

We got a bunch of guys now that’ll clog up the middle of the field with short and intermediate routes.

Our offense is going to depend on Torrey Smith being able to keep the safety honest with his deep speed
