Wow that is sick. As others have said, this definitely casts Rivera in a negative way as well. I feel like this is the sort of thing that would make it's way around an organization and someone as high up as Rivera would have heard something about it. Pretty f'd up.

According to the article the NFL investigation into the matter is what initiated it.  It appears that they wouldn't talk to her due to the NDA because they couldn't protect her from JR and his attorneys.  Not sure I follow her logic with that but I'm not in her shoes.  It seems that she feels violated all over again due to the NFL's handling, or lack there of, of the investigation.

If someone raped or molested your wife/sister/daughter/whatever but there wasn't enough evidence to convict, you could sue them instead.

Lawsuits like that generally involve a non-disclosure agreement. So she gets paid for damages, but can never talk about it.

Now imagine for a moment that the guy who did it is getting positive attention in the public eye and/or is about to make colossal money.

The team huddle was the most disgusting part about all of this and I'm really glad she called it out. Rivera had no business dragging the team into this without knowing the facts. Irresponsible is putting it lightly. I've watched them lose two super bowls and stay silent during the city's protests but I've never been more disappointed.

No I don't think so.  I think that she and her counsel feel that JR violated the NDA by telling the other owners about it so now she can finally tell her side of the story without being dragged back into court for repayment of the settlement.

Her payment was a settlement for what she went through, not to keep her mouth shut.  But to get it she had to keep her mouth shut.
