I'm basically making a poll for who is your final pick that you think we are going to draft. Mine has got to be Joshua Jackson. Makes too much sense, he's probably the best pure zone cover corner in the draft, has good size, Bradberry regressed, Worely gone, we dont have much at CB. Saftey is a bit unlikely and secondary in general is our area of greatest need. Alexander and Ward are really talented but quite small and we already have Elder and Munnerlyn.

I also did a top 10 of sorts of who we might draft, with top being the most likely and the bottom being the least likely. If we trade up, most likely our target is either Ridley or Moore.

# 1 : CB, Josh Jackson , Iowa : 6'0'' 196 lbs

+ He has ideal size, very good ball tracking skills, can take the ball away (#1 problem we had last year)

- He only started 1 year, had an underwhelming combine, not the fastest CB

#2 : WR, DJ Moore, Maryland : 6'0'' , 210 lbs

+ Good weight, very explosive , fights for extra yards, can catch deep balls

- Many of his routes were very short/simple, was  not used as a downfield threat much, might be more of a Jarvis Landry type

#3 WR, Calvin Ridley, Alabama : 6'1'' 189 lbs

+ Bit of a stretch, but he MIGHT be available at our pick, or close enough for us to trade up a few spots to take him

+ Consensus #1 WR overall,  very polished route runner, catches well,  proven deep vertical threat , good pedigree as Alabama WR

+ Plays with passion, very good speed , always separates from defenders, quite elusive

- Sometimes disappears in games, not consistently physical,  not really ideal size for #1 WR

- Is fairly old at 23 years and turning 24 during his first season. Will probably want a huge contract approaching age 28/29  .

- We would probably have to trade up to get him , and we kinda desperately need our top 100 picks for secondary help

# 4 CB Jaire Alexander, Louisville  : 5'10, 196 lbs

+ Very good cover corner, local kid

- Not very physical, undersized in height and weight

#5 TE Hayden Hurst, South Carolina:

+ Probably the best TE in the draft , decent blocker (None of the other top TE prospects are any good at blocking)  and excellent at getting open and making catches down the field

+ Very consistent hands, plays with passion and high motor, very physical

- Very old for a rookie, will be 25 for his rookie season , possibly limited room for growth? May be in his late 20s already by the time Greg retires

#6 Isaiah Wynn, G, Georgia : 6'3'', 313 lbs

+ Probably 2nd best Guard in the draft, great at run blocking and pass blocking

- Are there any negatives? Maybe he's a little smaller than you would like

# 7 Harold Landry , DE,  Boston College : 6'2'' , 252 lbs

+  One of the top 3 DEs , very good motor and pass rushing skills

- Hes VERY undersized , might get manhandled by NFL guards and tackles

# 8 Marcus Davenport, DE, UTSA : 6'6'' 264 lbs

+ Has ideal size, showed flashes of brilliance as a pass rusher

- Played standing up in college, not consistent as you would like, raw prospect

# 9  Justin Reid , FS , Stanford : 6'1'' 207 lbs

+ Has ideal size for a saftey , true FS, elite coverage skills

- Could be more physical , and play more disciplined.

- /+ May be viewed as a reach , but then again we have a very low 2nd rounder and he'll probably be long gone by that point.

# 10 Ronnie Harrison, SS , Alabama :  6'2'' , 208

+ Has great size, length, speed, great in run support, sheds blockers and tracks, stops ball carriers cold

+ Physically is an excellent counter for the likes of Julio Jones, Mike Evans, Michael Thomas

-  Coverage skills are not that great, plays undisciplined in the pass game . Benefited from NFL caliber talent and coaching on the Bama Dline and LBs in front of him.

Honorable Mentions : Billy Price (G/C), Will Hernandez (G) , Christian Kirk (WR) , DJ Chark (WR), Jessie Bates III (S)

I get the feeling Ridley could be there.  Heck, if five QBs go first...

We're still all the way down at pick 24 with the Cowboys, Ravens, Cardinals, Bills, Patriots, who could all use a #1 WR picking ahead of us

I'm thinking there's a chance though as well, but more because of a combination of his age and his lackluster combine will make him drop just enough. I could see us doing some sort of reasonable trade with the Patriots or Cowboys if he falls into range, give up one of our 3rds to snag him.

Cowboys love that linebacker from boise st, ravens like moore and could go defense instead, cards want a qb or defender, and i just dont think the pats will take a WR. All this is just my assumptions based off rumors i have read all over the place in which i hope it ultimately falls this way and Ridley drops to us.

So he is my pick and who i think the Panthers will pick.

Ridley if there.

If not, I’m thinking it’s one of Josh Jackson or Jaime Alexander

If both are gone, Hernandez, DJ moore, Daniels in that order.

I’ll predict in the middle of that and say it’s Will Hernandez. LG is set for 5+ years

drafting a guard is like drafting a DT to me in terms of excitement lol. Makes total sense but its boring af ...

We had norwell last year and still had all sorts of problems running the ball and pass blocking from the left side.

Our run blocking suffered tremendously without Kalil which is actually a big reason I think Daniels could be a great pick for us.  We finally developed a rhythm running the ball towards the end of the season once the line sturdied up.

Hernandez is the plug and play pro-bowl LG but Daniels is a guy who can start immediately at LG and transition to being Kalil's successor.  They're not the sexy picks but this year's interior lineman are really damn good in my book.  RB, OG/C, & DB are the strengths of this draft class.
