What Do You Think About Steve Comments

People that are bashing Steve Smith can go f themselves. Seriously. You're an f'ing idiot if you think that 89 is even 1% of why we're 2-3 and have such a bad team when compared to last season.

and you are quite a dupe if you think it's impossible that he has ANYTHING to do with it.

Smith is a primadonna and whiner when the offense doesn't go his way. There was a time when Smith could go up among 2 corners and safeties and get the ball but those days seems gone. He is being doubled and can't shake it like he has in the past.

Funny thing to me is people complain when Jake looks to Smith all the time and complain when he throws it elsewhere. You can't have it both ways. Yesterday he did a good job of finding other guys including Williams out of the backfield and King on a dumpoff and for the TD.

Teams will be able to take Smith out of the game if they double him or play tough man on him. The bottom line is it as much his fault as it is Jake's. Unless he is open he has shown that this year he can't go up and get the ball and take it away like he could last year. I don't know what has changed but he doesn't look like the same receiver he did last year.

I think these comments echo what people have been saying, that Jake Delhomme is a team cancer that is useless to us now because he cant get the ball to #89. They echo that Panthers FO is starting to look like they dont know how to utilize and keep their star players happy. That when its all said & done we set the franchise back 4-5 years so we could make sure our Great Hope's horse stable was the best in Louisiana. Smitty and the rest of receivers pathetic numbers are a symptom of not having a starting NFL quarterback on our roster. Its like tryna drive a Ferrari with a Ford Escort engine, it just wont work. I dont expect Smitty to be an impact until we can find us a starting NFL QB, cuz right now we dont have 1.

This. Steve has dropped more balls than usual this year to.

See your wrong there. While Jake is not at all good. He still tries to force the ball to Smith even when he is doubled and tripled covered. Thats where all those picks come from. If you want to blame someone.... Blame Moose for not making them pay by putting one guy on him or blame Fox/Davidson for not figuring out a way to get Smith open. If they did it would be better for Delhomme and Smith because there would be alot more scoring and alot less picks.

I dont see why people are calling Smith a primadonna or a diva because this is a very rare situation for Smith to call anyone out. I cant count on one hand how many times he has done it. He has had two poor years because of heavy run and no passing game and I guess it has got to him.

Steve has been dropping balls the past few years. He is still a beast. He still gets open. He doesn't get the ball put where it needs to be when he beats coverage.

Smith has never been a team player and admitted that he didn't spend much time with the team and other players. He has always done his own thing and said what he wanted but is tolerated because of his skill and performance.

He is a primadonna but we will see how it is tolerated now that he isn't the dominant receiver he has been.

I am a huge Smitty fan, but he needs to shut his mouth and play football. When did it become more about stats then winning? If we win who cares who had the bigger game, we ran the ball for over 260 yards they couldn't stop the run so keep running the ball. Forcing the ball to Smitty is not the way to go he will get his touches just not when he is double and triple covered. He has a huge impact on the game when it takes two players to cover him that means we should be able to pound the rock with D-will and J-stew. Lets just win football games and not worry about fantasy stats even though he is my number 1 receiver on my fantasy team.

It's never a bad thing that a team's top WR is a primadona imo. I remember a comment by Brian Billick that always stuck with me that was something like 'if my top receiver isn't pissed that he isn't getting the ball then I don't want him as my top receiver'. Sure there are some humble receivers that are very good but a lot of them can be classified as primadonas.
