Good resorts in SC?

Use to go to Kingston Plantation a lot when my son  was younger.  They have a mix of condo's and hotel rooms.   Most of the condo's have kitchens.  They have a waterpark for little kids, and several pools, hot tubs, tennis courts, etc...  And the beach is very nice for families. You can get ocean front high rise, or lake front ground  level condo's.  The area outside of the resort is very crowded, but its laid back inside.

The cost is fairly high though.

High cost is good for driving drunks out!  Thank you!  We stayed at Long Bay Resort once in their top suites... They had roaches everywhere and floor smelled like urine (clearly someone pissed on the floor).  Paid like $300 a night for that garbage.  Had such a bad experience, we haven’t been back to Myrtle Beach since.

I have stayed at Kingston probably 10 times overall, mostly  at embassy suites, but a couple of times in the Condo's.  Never had a bad experience, at least not with the rooms.

@ARSEN: There are several neighborhoods at Kiawah that share their own small water park. You could AirBnB or VRBO in one of those. The Sanctuary is right there if you want spa services, there's world class golf all over the island and great restaurants as well. The entire island is super family friendly and the beaches are for guests only.
