jake was pretty much effective. i don't know why we didn't let him throw it more in the second half. where did #89 disappear to? that was a neat magic trick. i think he took the run D with him

With out Jake Smith cant seem to catch passes. I think the Fox thinking is if we run twice its makes Smith become stronger. Or maybe we are just predicable because he love to run the ball too much even when its not working.

I say we need a better pass rush before we single out the CBs. Eli had a few times today where he could have walked to the sideline, drank a Gatorade, chatted with a few fans, texted his brother, took a piss, walked back to to the pocket and made a throw 30 yards downfield.

Well, maybe I exaggerate. . .a little. Didn't this same guy get sacked 8 times last week?

This game made it clear where the Panthers need to improve personnelwise. They need to find some more back up DTs because when the startes are out they are all out! They need to replace Ken Lucas and I don't mean just starting Marshall because he can't do any better. They need to get at least one if not three WRs to take the pressure off of Steve Smith. After all Smitty is not getting any younger and they ought to think about who is going to replace him in the future. The biggest personnel change needed is a DC!

Uh? Muhammed had a crazily good game. How does that not take any pressure off Smith?

He's not that old yet. Screw the number (age), he just doesn't look or act like he's old, injured or tired.

i agree with dockery,we only threw the ball 19 times, can't expect him to do great if the coordinator doesn't let him unleash the beast

And 19 is a ridiculously low number, even with the wind factored in (uh, short passes to the RB's, anyone?).

It's not necessarily about pressure or the skill of the receivers; if you only throw the ball a few times then it's always going to look like the receivers didn't get anything done, which leaves room for interpretation, such as: "Smith has too much pressure" and "they need more WR's."

Even if those comments are true, don't let your perception be skewed due to the unproportionate total of run and pass plays.

P.S. This post was directed at no one in particular.

I was upset last night, but not distraught. After the Bucs and Falcons tore us apart I was furious, but we palyed a great game last night. Sure, there were things that could have been better, but we were in till the end. I love games like that, even more when we win. Too many people expect perfection, but guess what we're not the Patriots (oh wait, how did that one turn out?)
