Yes, we lost to the Giants. Yes we got steamrolled by their rushing attack. Yes we played conservative and didn't step on their throats when we had them.

BUT, we're still in the playoffs. one of 12 teams with a chance to win the super bowl. this loss should motivate us. New York was more hungry and this game proved that they missed Jacobs. this showed us even more why we missed kemo in the middle. if we meet them in the title game, we should be able to win it. we stood toe to toe with a #1 team.

but let's move on and focus on the aint's who have nothing to play for next week. we will take out our frustrations on them and completely kick their asses.

all these threads on us being overrated and our defense is horrible is overblown. put the pipe down. it's one game. the giants proved they were better and ran the ball. use this as motivation in the playoffs and against the saints. we still have something to play for. the last time we were in this position, we crushed atlanta 44-10 on new year's day in 2006.

THANK YOU!!!! its messed up how people exagerrate dumb things. i mean dam, if you think that panthers are that bad, then root for somebody else, simple as that.

I don't quite agree with you on that but thats ok. There will be a few who think the Panthers ARE that bad after tonights performance and will vent their spleen simply because they can. It's their opinion even if it's totally illogical, irrational off the scale wacko and completely disagrees with your own.

This game made it clear where the Panthers need to improve personnelwise. They need to find some more back up DTs because when the startes are out they are all out! They need to replace Ken Lucas and I don't mean just starting Marshall because he can't do any better. They need to get at least one if not three WRs to take the pressure off of Steve Smith. After all Smitty is not getting any younger and they ought to think about who is going to replace him in the future. The biggest personnel change needed is a DC!

    • The Canes were definitely shook as soon as game 1 started going south. I think Niko Mikkola coming back for Game 5 was big for Florida.  That guy was a force all series.  They definitely missed him in Game 4.
    • The off season should be eventful, it was painfully obvious we need a 2C and a 1RHD The Canes have cap room and draft capital id be on the lookout for not just free agent signings but also trade moves..... Im actually leaning towards them addressing more via trade in the off season than free agency.
    • I agree with this. Florida is going to be tough to beat. But they can’t keep that group together much longer so the hurricanes window might open a little wider.  My problem is the series should have looked the way it did in games 4 and 5. From the second period of game 1 thru 3 were an abysmal effort and the players just looked defeated. I was very disappointed in the overall effort until games 4 and 5. I think it’s very fair to ask if Rod is the right man for the job right now. If they’d gotten swept again and they lost game 4 like 5-0, id say he might need to go. But I think the team bounced back enough to give him another year with the front office going all in to bolster the roster. Failure to reach the finals with a full push to build the roster to win now, Rod goes next offseason, and the team focuses on retooling around their younger players.
