Wide Receivers we face in 2018

Find interesting that the NFL didn't have elite receivers until this season.

You are missing the point.  We played receivers similar to this last year, and got torched by a most of them.  Offense with CMAC infusion was good enough for us to get 11 wins.  So far only changes are no starting FS and Ross Cockrell at CB2, possibly CB1 if Bradberry gets caught slippin.   My observation is that if we want to be better than ATL and NO, we need secondary.  The constant blitzing by Wilks didn't help against them.  1-4 against those two rivals last year.  I agree, Cam needs weapons.  Smart choice of guys so far IMO, but secondary needs work immediately.  I have some hope left for Bradberry, especially if we don't put him on an island as much this year.

No matter who we draft in the secondary, no player is going to stop a Brees and Ryan passing attack. So why not try and get Cam another weapon so we can compete with those elite offenses in the NFC South?

Ted Ginn

Jerricho Cotchery

Devin Funchess

Philly Brown

Brentin Bersin

Weapons?  With adequate speed in his WR corp, Cam lights up the night like the 4th.

Torrey Smith

Funch

Jarius Wright

Byrd

Curtis Samuel

CMAC option.

Personally, don't see a major difference in the overall talent.  Norv is gonna get done with the weapons we have, maybe a 2nd or 3rd round WR added in.  Secondary that year, well we all know they were studs.

To stop Eagles RPO'S(Run Pass Options) your front 4 has to disrupt the O-line/Qb quickly.

More pressure is needed to make defense better vs top offenses, but that does not mean neglect secondary like Ron does with all these old ass Corners and Safeties.

Like i said before it depends if Panthers think Harold Landry/Arden Key is a better player than Isiah Oliver/Jaire Alexander/Justin Reid in the 1st or 2nd rounds.

We have a better secondary too. What? You're not sold? Well that's how I feel about our receiving corps.

Plus, there are still options at DB in FA and the draft---better options than wide receivers, I'd say. After maybe a half dozen receivers in this draft class, I don't see a whole lot of potential impact this season. But, who knows? You probably can double (or possibly even triple) that for DBs, between experienced vets in FA and draft prospects with good potential.

No we don't...

A top 5 defense can stop those players.. It has happen before..

You combine our front 7 with a good secondary.. Guess what you have a defense that can stop high flying offenses...

I didn't miss that point.

I was making a different point. Last year was also more about execution.

With that being said, I'm already on record saying a defensive pick would be the safer bet.

In the end, I don't get caught up in the draft, it never goes as planned.

The two players in the nfl that scare me the most are Julio and brees...and that both have been kicking our tails for yrs

we need pass rush, secondary help, and yes we need to be high powered on offense to keep up

i have confidence that Marty and Ron will make the moves that get us there in the best and quickest way

Neither were scaring me when Josh was on the backend...

Sadly, its true.  I will never forgive Gman for Butler pick.

Butler is a good player. I don't share your feelings.

Good, but a 1st rounder stuck behind Kawann and Star, and now his spot was given to Dontari poe?  IMO, waste of 1st rd pick.  On another team, a starter.  But we have pretty high standards for D tackle.

He is a 3 tech like Short.

While he COULD play nose tackle, that's not his position.

Poe was simply signed to replace Star, which we didn't have a legitimate answer for on the roster.
