Thats Your opinion.. cool...

Cockrell and Sercey are Jags.. Who have never produced or played in Rivera system... At least Smith and Wright have played and produced in Norv system...

Reality check Wright and Smith were hand picked as Norv guys who he already knows and has specific roles for them.. In his system..

Cockrell and Sercey are insurance and depht signings just in case we don't and can't get better players.. Cockrell wouldn't even be here if Breeland hadn't screwed up... They took cheap deals with no promise of making the roster..

Instead of trying to explain your opinion on a player you might want to research context and situation.. It should be easy to see the 2 WR we brought in were handpicked by Norv.. While the secondary players were depth cheap signings...

Handpicked by Norv after the realization that the choicer fruit was well out of our price range. (LOL) And it sounded like Rivera may have been the one most responsible for Smith's signing. In any event, the purse strings and the market chose these receivers more than the coaches. And talking of cheap contracts, Wright's is probably the cheapest of the bunch. It's funny how you claim that the DB's are cheap depth signings and insurance, while not realizing that Wright is in fact just that. Moreover, like I alluded to, Searcy and Cockrell's careers have been better than Jarius Wright's relative to their positions and production.  Although I want to upgrade them if at all possible, I am of the opinion that an upgrade of the free agent WRs is much more pressing if not downright critical to the coming season's success.  Hurney, Rivera and Norv know this, and that's why you've heard such chatter about receivers in this draft.

Who said anything about cheap signings.. And no Wright and Smith have had more success than Cockrell and Sercey.  All are making more than vet minimum.. I said insurance depht signings which they are because they are JAGS.... And Wright is a Jag but at least he knows Norv system and fits a specific role in Norv's system.. Neither Cockrell (again who wouldn't be here if Breeland hadn't fuged up) or Sercey can say that...

Like I said my opinion.. I'm way more comfortable with our WR corp than our secondary...

If you can say that the pair if WRs have had better success than the pair of DBs, it's only because of Smith who was better towards the beginning of his career. Even still, I like the Smith signing, as it was cheap and better than nothing. Wright, regardless of knowing Norv's "system" or not, is JAG and was JAG in Norv's system. It was a JAG signing that was made worse by the wholly unnecessary $2,000,000 signing bonus/guarantee. But you and others can play up Wright's value if you like. I've seen it all before (like an old LP that skips back to playing the same verse over and over again), but at the end of the day Wright will do much of nothing except increasingly keep the bench warm as time goes on, while the younger, more talented receivers rise to the occasion and finally be the weapons that Cam deserves.

Like I said, there is a reason why wide receiver is the most talked about position in relation to the Panthers by most people I've seen during this draft period.

Nothing is 100% positive.. But my opinion is Cockrell and Sercey are jags and this CB and Safety draft is one of the best in a couple years. Neither have played in Rivera system before so them and a rookie (again who is younger, faster) are starting at a closer point in learning the system.. Making Cockrell and Sercey easier to beat for playing time.. While at WR we have Samuels a highly ranked prospect himself just a year ago.. Plus Smith and Wright have played in and produced in Norv system.. While this rookie WR draft not being as good as recent years (lacking top 10 talent) is filled with potential players and not instant day 1 starters.. Imo other than Ridely all the rest will have a problem beating out guys who know the system and have specific roles day 1...

Again this is Jmo and nothing is 100% positive.. But you can read how the landscape is shaping out.. Remember what happen in FA and look at how the fact we can even be in Ridely range (top wr on this draft) should make you think... We aren't getting the top CB or Safety in this draft.. Not even close.. That should say something...

I gotcha man...just difference of opinion. Just feel like every year we watch cam throwing to some of the worst targets in the league and honestly I'm fed up with it. I just don't think that's how you support your franchise QB...we've got rare talent and to me not maximizing the window we have with him is foolish...with better WRs we'd have beaten New Orleans...and even the Philly game last year we were in. I just think to beat the best teams we have to be able to score with them and stay aggressive. Cam's our best player and chance of winning a Super Bowl. Hopefully smith pulls a ginn with cam, funchess takes another step and Samuels and Byrd stay healthy and all out...those are a lot of ifs and hopefullys to bet on though.

Alright okay.. Like I said Wright is a jag.  But I have more faith that he Can produced the 30 to 40 rec 500 yards and 3 TDs he did when he was with Norv in Minny.. Which for a 3rd or 4th WR would be awesome and more than our 3rd and 4th wr have done in years..  Also add some context to your argument.. Who was his QB in Minnesota?? Was he a MVP known for making jags look good?

There is also a reason analysts are mentioning OG, OT, TE, DE, And Secondary for us.  They think we need all these things..

These people keep saying DBs and Safety. We need offense we could not catch a damn ball or score last year. WE NEED OFFENSE!

Good thing we have one of the best third down receivers in the game now along with a returning Samuel and Torrey Smith.
