Since Igo mocked us Miller, I thought I'd look closer. Came across Stephen White

top dawg

I was not really enthused with @Jeremy Igo prognosticating Anthony Miller in our future with one of our round 3 picks, probably because I don't like Miller's smallish size and lack of blazing speed (his Pro Day speed was 4.48, Funchess ran a 4.47), not to say that he doesn't play fast. But I must admit that he looks to have a little dawg toughness to his game, which is always nice for a playmaker, and he gets his YAC. The biggest concern for me though is if he is whether he can consistently play on the outside, as most if his routes were run from the slot. Admittedly it may not be as big of a deal, depending how we plan to use one of the other three presumed slot guys, but I really prefer an outside guy (maybe Michael Gallup or Dasean Hamilton). That being said, Miller could end up the more prolific guy. Analyst Stephen White certainly thinks so.

I must admit that I play a little closer attention to Whites analysis on defensive ends, since he was one, but I don't summarily discount what he has to say about other positions. Being a wide receiver guy, I look for guys who have it, and White kind of surprised me when he said that Miller  appeared to have it.

"In Miller, I see a guy who can line up all over the place, run any kind of route you need him to, a guy who can take the top off the defense, a guy who can make tough catches, and a guy who is going to maximize his production with his effort when the ball is in his hands.

Of all the receivers I’ve broken down this draft season, he is the one dude who seems to have that 'it' factor."

After watching four games, White pretty much gives compelling reasons as to why he believes Miller is a first round talent, and his piece is certainly worth the read. And after reading his take in conjunction with looking at some bids, including what Igo provided with his mock, I can't say that White's off base. Miller looks damned good, and, honestly, if we're able to get him that late, then it would be value akin to a coup.

Don't get me wrong, I can't see us skipping over Moore or Ridley on day one (even though I am not 100 percent sold that they have it, especially Ridley), but I can't discount the little guy's potential, any more so than that of Gallup (my second day favorite)or Hamilton.

Again, read what White has to say. He has some criticism about blocking and dropping the ball, but not enough to trump his like of the kid.

Here's a good quote.

"What I’m saying is trying to single him up near the goal line probably won’t work out too well for you, bruh."

i can't wait until the draft is over so the huddle can turn into everyone's season prediction thread.

Well, since you obviously wanted to go there---even though I really haven't predicted anything in this thread---I will predict, like always, that no one will really know what to expect out of our season until the end of September at the earliest.
