Hurney ranked 24th out of 26 experienced GM’s

It's funny to me how all the Gettleman supporters on here are labeled biased and have an agenda. A neutral source ha Gettleman ranked way hire than Hurney. I would guarantee you couldn't find an analyst out there who thinks Hurney is even in the same breathe. It's a shame some people are just blind homers who refuse to accept the truth.

Yeh, so Hurney is Hurney but we did go to 3 playoff runs and 1 Super Bowl under him. How many current GM can say that?  Honestly

I can think of one that accomplished this in his 1st 3 seasons(instead of his 1st 11 years).

Let that sink in.

OL...let’s not forget gettleman got us Matt Kalil

Yep. 3 players that have made an All-Pro team, of some kind, with a 3rd rounder, a 4th rounder, and an UDFA. And found us a decent LT until a career ending injury.

And signing Matt Kalil is still one of the worst FA signings in NFL history.

You are funny. I remember an earlier article which ranked Hurney high which you lambasted. Now another guy comes out and ranks Hurney's poorly and suddenly the gospel is being preached. Let's be real, you don't like Hurney and bash him at every turn. That is fine because you have a right to your opinion. Like everyone here. But your extreme bias actually works against you. Instead of seeing you as an unbiased objective observer (if such an animal actually exists) you come across as predictable and linear locked into a narrow point of view. If you want to be more credible, you might consider a more tempered approach which acknowledges both successes and failures with  equal consideration.  It is simply making an opinion which presents both sides of the argument but leans toward your point of view. One sided arguments rarely change anyone's  opinion as you don't hear anything you agree with as you prepare your reply. It gives you no credibility because it gets instantly rejected based on your unrelenting and predictable  negativity. So when you actually do make a good post and you do .... It gets lost in the extreme characterizations.

What are you taking about? I would love to see this article you're referencing because I have no idea what you're talking about.

Gettleman was a narcissist and egomaniac (seriously, talk to anyone who's dealt with him) who was disliked by almost everyone within the org. He also placed too much faith in his own ability to find diamonds in the rough, while ignoring the obvious. Too clever by half...but never clever enough. He was a poor GM with one lucky season. The real reasons behind his firing were (and are)...stupendously idiotic...but that doesn't mean we were better off with him.

Hurney is not perfect (or perhaps even all that smart), but he is, a.) a man who doesn't often get in his own way, b.) a guy who can deal with other people (and yes, believe it or not, that matters - sports has yet to be reduced to a perfect analytics fantasy), c.) one of the top five or so drafters in modern NFL history, d.) highly experienced, and e.) an excellent transitional figure who can bridge the current f*cked-up ownership with a future that is hopefully less silly and insular.
