My condolences.

(P.S. If your management retains Big Sam, y'all might be fighting off relegation next year.  Don't do that.)

I agree. Big Sam is good at saving a season headed in the wrong direction (a single season), but he's not a long term solution for any club with even modest ambitions.

Really Klopp wasn’t there 2 seasons ago? You might want to fact check that.

Liverpool last played in Kuala Lumpur in the Summer of 2015.  Klopp took the Liverpool job in October 2015 after they fired Brendan Rodgers.

Its amazing how you think you know more than me about my favorite team.

So you're saying that Barcelona paid £142M for a player (Coutinho) that isn't superb?

And Jesus and Willian are most definitely superb players.  As is Firmino.

Ederson?  I'll give you I was stretching a bit there.

Yes I am. Coutinho was brilliant at times  but went completely missing at others especially when things went against Liverpool. His slight build was a poor fit in the premier league. He is not even in the conversation for the ballon d’or-never has been. You’re biased as a Liverpool fan.

I think you sound like someone who didn’t grow up playing the game

Try to remember that 95% of the members on this board don’t have an athletic bone in their body.

But apparently it doesn’t stop them all from being sports experts!

You think players constantly run in practice?

Constantly?  Of course not.

But you can't train to run long distances if you don't train running long distances.

You don't gain the fitness to run 13.53 km in a 90 minute game by trotting a few times around the track.  Liverpool midfielders and attackers, since Klopp has been the manager, have always been at the top of distance-run statistics.  Gegenpressing is not for the faint of heart or weak of leg.  You have to TRAIN for that.

Nope didn’t say he was in charge during the friendly. I said he was there 2 seasons ago. We are currently in the 2017/18 season.  My simple math tells me 2 seasons ago was 2015/16. Nice try putting words in my mouth though.

Uhoh. Watch out. He has statistics that show people run during actual matches. Ergo clearly they run constantly in practice. Which by the way AGAIN was something I never said.

You're the guy who brought up as evidence that Klopp teams trot/walk and don't press in friendlies by bringing up your vast experience viewing Liverpool teams that were never managed by Klopp, not me.

Read it again. I said Liverpool. I hadn’t mentioned Klopp until you you got your knickers in a twist about your favorite team.

The fact that I haven’t seen them live in 2 years doesn’t mean I haven’t seen them on TV. But apparently you believe you are the authority on Liverpool despite living in the US.

Now who is putting words in who's mouth?  Hypocrite much?

No mate it’s called logic. If they aren’t constantly running they must be... erm not running. This ridiculous idea that because Klopp invented the Gegenpress they constantly run in practice is utterly stupid. Do they press and train to close space? Yes. More than other teams? Perhaps. Though it’s hardly a new strategy to close space. Does that therefore mean that they don’t stand still or trot in practice. No it doesn’t. And again I was referring to preseason friendlies specifically.

These preseason games are not like pro bowl games.  Players will still go all out during preseason.  I remember watching PSG vs. Chelsea 2 years ago and it was amazing high tempo game with constant attack by both teams.  You need to remember that end of July is first time for players back in months together and these preseasons set the tone for upcoming seasons.
