Amazon is not what it used to be...

Yea, I don't think I've ever had an issue with something be delivered in the time frame that I requested. The only caveat to that is if I order something on Thursday and Friday, I won't get it until Monday or Tuesday, but that's expected.

Probably depends on your area

but Amazon & USPS do Sunday delivery, & even some holidays

so there really isn't a day you can't get your sh*t from Amazon & USPS.

Yeah, haven't had any issues with Amazon and have been dealing with them for a decade now.

Delivery has always been on time or early.  Great tracking notification system that doesn't leave me in the dark like other stores.  Easy returns.

Prices are usually competitive with what I'm seeing at the brick and mortar stores for the most part, but that is not always the case and as always, it pays to compare before buying.

Amazon has turned retail on its head much like Walmart did several decades ago.  Stores that can't compete or find a niche market to serve end up like Woolworth, Sears and Kmart, dead or soon to be dead and life goes on.  It's a dog-eats-dog world out there.

Guess I've had good luck, but 98% of the time I get stuff in the right time frame.   Though most of my purchases are vinyl records but other stuff has came in at expected times.    It would be weird for you to not get stuff in CLT when there's a lot of warehouses around.

Ive noticed its conservatives complaining.  I think it has more to do with the Washington Post then amazon.

We've had a few issues with Amazon, but nothing that would turn us off.  I love getting my refunds on returns super fast.  I always price check amazon though.  Between Prime Video and the free two day shipping (which is about 90% always 2 day, a few cases where it isn't), it's been well worth the cost.

I do hate it for the employees.  Working in that kind of environment sucks.  Though I know making their lives better makes my costs rise.  But I'd pay a little extra in order to avoid going to the mall, target or standing in line at Walmart...  Hell, even if it's a few bucks more on amazon, I'd rather pay that than drive over, wait in stupidly long lines, and get sucked into buying other crap.  Color me lazy.  Or very time conscious.

Hey d: off-topic, but have you ever used Donorschoose.org for a specific classroom project? It's specifically designed for schools/teachers and is a pretty well-vetted space. I keep track of the local schools and will occasionally ship in on a project, although I don't have any kids. I always try to help if its books.

Put me in the crowd that loves Amazon. I pretty much buy everything that isn't milk or bread there. Been a Prime member since 2011. Love the convenience from purchasing to returning and never had a problem.

I just bought an ultralight rod there for 20 bucks that seems really decent quality. Trying it out with some panfish soon.

It surprises me that so many people complain about the two day delivery or lack thereof.  When I order something from amazon, as long as its there within a week or two, I am ok with it.  If I need it quick, I go to a retail outlet.

One of the things I like about Amazon is that I can just enter a part number and usually find what I want.  For example, a few months ago, a piece in the electronic window of my son's car broke.  Found a youtube video that told me how and what to fix.  It wasn't a part normally carried by autozone, advance etc... and the local dealer wanted 150 bucks for it.  Found a parts place in Arizona that charged half that, and I didn't really care if it took a week to get here.

Amazon is crap. Ebay is cheaper and faster. I ordered 2 things last Friday. Ebay item from Indiana arrived Tuesday. Amazon now says-

Quote

We're sorry your package is late

We're working with the carrier to get your package back on track, and we'll let you know when your package is out for delivery.

Please come back Thursday if you still don't have it and we'll help you out.

Was expected Friday, April 20

2 day shipping my ass. From Georgia. I could have walked to get it in a week.

Sounds good to me. Can you go during the week?

Yep, that works best actually...got 7 weeks vacation to burn up and I have my daughter in the weekends.

Its on back order so hopefully it will be here before it gets hot. I waited too long to order. Ill let you know when I get it, they said hopefully a week or two. Didnt get anything fancy, never kayak fished before so didnt want to sink a bunch of money into it until I knew it’s something I liked and would do.

    • yeah. winter backpacking trips were the most miserable and amazing experiences. same with the coldest and snowiest hunting  experiences. i love being in it. makes for incredible memories. the worse it was, the more i ended up loving it. made the greatest memories.  i just want to get out of it afterwards.
    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
