Kawhi Leonard

Probably have a much higher chance of resigning Kemba than Kawhi if we made this move.  I just can't see this happening unless Kawhi would resign a new deal immediately.  If we trade Kemba we really have to have them take on an unwanted contract (unlikely) and include our 1st or even more picks.

If we did that who is our PG?  Just don't see this happening.

I just see us trying to get a good player in the draft (PG would be nice) and go with that for now.  Too many bad contracts we can't shed right now.

I think both leave, honestly. Kemba's not going to win here with this roster man. At what point do you guys want something to change? With Kawhi, we could have a potential MVP type of talent. With Kemba, we have barely an NBA All-Star type of talent. So, yeah. Kemba, Lamb, and our first rounder for Kawhi, I would do it. Plus, Monk can move in and be a starter at PG. SG we would have to start Batum's shitty ass. It is what it is though.

I used common sense.

There are only a handful of "it" teams. Charlotte is not one of them. Kawhi wants to be a superstar on an it team.

So Kawhi is like LeBron is what you're saying? He would be a Superstar on this team, easily.

Looking at the end of the season we had some dominate games there...I'm ok with keeping the band together.  Just draft well.  No need to blow it up just yet especially for 1 yr rental like Leonard.  He ain't signing long term here IMO.  Kemba might.  If we can find the cap room.

However, if we get word Kemba ain't signing here than trade him to the highest bidder.  Gotta get something for him.

Yeah, we usually dominate when it doesn't matter. That's been the issue around Charlotte for the past, I dunno, name it.

Something has to change for us to start winning. I would saying winning again, but, there isn't an again. Because we weren't doing it consistently to begin with.

You're okay with winning 35 games again, and getting the 12th pick in the Draft? Because that is what happened this year. That's what you're saying.

And you have no clue what odd ass Kawhi Leonard is thinking right now. He could think "Wait, I'm in the Eastern Conferen, and LeBron is 34 years old? And I'm going to a team that has a possible star in Monk, and possible damn good player in Bacon? They also have Dwight playing well? *Kawhi glances at the roster and sees veterans in the right spots* Yeah, I could win in the Eastern Conference with that roster. Plus, I'll be in Charlotte. They've never gotten past the Second round. Sure, why not? No pressure on me."

This brings something to mind for me...great post.  What if Leonard wants that huge payday and chill out the rest of his career (poke to Batum).  That is completely possible.  Kemba doesn't have that in his DNA.  He was upset with trade talk.  I'll leave it right there.

Lets talk change...new GM...new coach and new minds.  Draft a good NBA talent at our pick and lets roll.  You have to give Kup a few seasons.  We will be ok, or a least we have to give them a chance.

There's a lot of things Kawhi could want. I don't know if being a lazy ass hole and making ton of money if one of them.

I'm sorry but, when have we Drafted well, EVER? Just curious. Kupchek likes to make trades, and Jordan specifically named Kawhi is the only player he would trade Kemba for. Well, it's damn sure possible.

Getting a 100 percent  Kawhi Leonard would make us a Title favorite with Monk in the lineup, and Dwight still on the team.

Especially out in the East.

We have new management...we could draft well this year.  Possible.  New coach.  Lets see.  The NBA draft is an amazingly difficult animal.  SO many busts.  I hope Kup takes the best, most fundamentally sound player.  Those players are making it more often that not.  Blowing it up is not really smart when we are within 10 games of the playoffs.

Kawhi has no ties to Charlotte, so no, he's nothing like LeBron and Cleveland.

Charlotte does have a yearning for a star. And, that's what you said he would like to be. He would like to flop to a different team competing for a Title.

All these could's, and we could have Kawhi and our first MVP ever. Sigh. Okay though. If you want to hangout in mediocrity for another 5-10+ years, sure.

Is it though? Because we won 35 games with Kemba this year, and have been to the Playoffs once with him, while Kawhi is an MVP caliber talent.

That's less an indictment on Kemba and more an indictment on the team surround him. Trading Kemba for Kawhi doesn't make the Hornets a contender. You need stars to compete.

So an MVP caliber talent doesn't make the Hornets a contender in the shitty East? Alrighty. Gotcha.
