Late releases like this should always be looked at very closely. There's a reason they made their move to cut him now, the questions is why.

Not sure he’s that much of an upgrade over a draft pick at this point, but if he’s cheap he’d be a solid attrition to a RB group in need of power between the tackles.

1000 yard rusher last season...proven RB in this league.  Would be an upgrade over a draft pick and check a box of need without giving up a pick in the draft on a RB.

No one is going to sign him before the draft.  After the draft everyone that did not get "their guy" will talk to him to see if he will take a vet min deal.  Him and Dez both got kind of pooed on being cut this late.  There will be some other cuts after the draft but to get cut 2 or 3 weeks before the draft, they are both probably going to have to wait until after the draft to sign with someone.
