We need to trade up then. But either way you just said no safety is worth it at 24. I agree, the guys you listed are reaches.

Yeah, i meant there will be no safety available at 24 worth a first round pick. If James is there at 24 someone should sprint to the stage with the card and jersey with his name on it. Pipe dream.

In no order, I believe the top 3 possibilities for the Panthers at No. 24 are... Iowa CB Josh Jackson Stanford S Justin Reid Maryland WR DJ Moore

7:28 AM - 16 Apr 2018

would be happy with any of these guys and norris knows his stuff more than a lot of these draft "guys"

I like all of those guys...I feel like Jackson is the best value/fit for the pick. I wouldn’t be mad about Moore if he’s really as explosive as he’s billed to be. I think that these WRs are getting a really watered down eval compared to previous years bc of all the first round busts. Moore reminds me a lot of Deandre Hopkins..

My only problem with the opinion of "watered down eval" of the WR's in this draft .. Is how a lot of unproven avg. Vet WR's got paid in FA..  If this draft was good in that position.. No way Paul Richardson get 9mil and Landry, Watkins and Allen (coming off a ACL injury) get paid like Julio. .

Tell me which Facts I have wrong . Did he not start just 14 games? Did he not run 4.56 official time? Was he not just a two star recruit? The other things are a matter of opinion but he would be a very risky first round pick imo

Just gave you facts and you ignored them.  They are the same facts all the scouts and writers put up, yet they are just opinions?

1. Fact- you dont grade out at the top of your position off 1 game.  Jackson was graded out, the top as his position overall for the season.  Didnt just come off 1 game.  Pff doesnt have you as the highest season grade for a CB in 4 years based off of 1 game.

2. Fact- school doesnt matter and amount of starts doesnt matter.  Josh Norman came from a little school of Coastal Carolina.  And while we're on schools, Iowa produced the top rookie db not named Lattimore, along with White.  Starts?  Norman didnt start or blow up until his end here, his last 1.5 years.  Yet no one mentions it.  Did Ward or Oliver start all 4 years at Ohio State and Colorado?

3. Fact- Iowa does have athlete's.  They had one of the biggest freaks at last years combine in George Kittle.  We're drooling over what a Freak Gesicki is at TE this year. 6'5 247 4.54 40 129 broad jump.  Kittle last year went 6'4 247 4.52 40 with a 132 broad jump.

4. Fact- stars dont matter.  The top 5* defensive recruit by the name of Dashawn Hand is looking to go late 3rd early 4th.  While the top defensive prospect was a nice low 3* who really didnt start to come on until his final season.  His name is Bradley Chubb.

5. Fact- good DBs make QBs look bad.  You sounds as if your a sour Ohio State fans.  Guessing every QB Richard Sherman or Norman have faced in their career just had Bad games that day?

6. Fact- speed isnt that big a issue.  Especially 4.49-4.55 for a zone CB. Lets look at last years top CBs in the NFL and their "speed"

1. AJ Bouye- 4.55 40 http://www.nfl.com/draft/2013/profiles/a.j.-bouye?id=2541162

2. Jimmy Smith-  4.46 http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/jimmy-smith?id=2495231

5. Marcus Peters- 4.53 http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/marcus-peters?id=2552488

6. Casey Hayward- 4.57 http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/casey-hayward?id=2532861

7. Xavier Rhodes- 4.43http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/xavier-rhodes?id=2540155

10. Kyle Fuller- 4.49 http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/kyle-fuller?id=2543681

12. Richard Sherman- 4.56http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/richard-sherman?id=2495507

13. Tre'davious White- 4.47 http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/tre'davious-white?id=2557867

15. Trumaine Johnson - 4.61 http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/trumaine-johnson?id=2532877

Josh Norman- 4.66 http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/josh-norman?id=2532920

You dont have to be a 4.3s-4.4 flat to be elite

Jackson shut people down the whole year, and was damn good doing it.  He fit well in Iowa zone fit.  The same scheme we had.  Going into the combine he was looked at as the top CB, lock top 15.  Even his 40 at 4.49 was respectable.  It wasnt until drills where he struggled in man coverage, which isnt his style anyways.

Josh Norman is the same way.  Elite in the scheme that fit him as a hawk and one who reads QBs (like Jackson).  Put Norman in a man defense and he struggles as well. FACT

You spent a long time on your research and reply Tx but I still wouldn’t be happy with him in the first round Third sure. Only my silly opinion but we all have one

Jourdan's tweet speculation speaks volumes IMO.  She would have more info than most, if not all of us...and she's hinting at some major Reid love there. It's about the time where we get the three or so names and it's going to be one of those guys...I'm saying Reid it is.

If he is the pick at 24 I will be pissed he is definitely not a first rd pick.
